We asked selected managers of FBOs and airports and selected general<br />
aviati<strong>on</strong> pilots to describe how off-airport competiti<strong>on</strong> may influence FBO<br />
pricing. FBO and airport managers told us that they view nearby airports<br />
as competitors and m<strong>on</strong>itor the FBO prices at these locati<strong>on</strong>s. For<br />
example, an FBO manager in Maine told us he regularly checks the<br />
prices at the larger internati<strong>on</strong>al airport that is nearby. This finding<br />
suggests that when an FBO sets its prices, it takes into account the<br />
