About the Acoustic
To be honest, it's not that easy to get good quality audio using acoustic drums. You have to
make sure to check on lots and lots of factors before recording using them. Factors like the
expensive drums, expensive microphones, expensive cables, and the sound itself. You have to
make sure that the environment you are in must be very well-suited for an acoustic drum
recording. For sure it sounds good in your eyes while someone is playing the drums, but at the
recording, it might not be as good as you think it is.
A big truth bomb here, recording the drums whether in acoustic or electric is a huge challenge to
do. Audio engineers who are so successful in it are worthy to be applauded, it is not easy to
make sure that things go in place while recording them. But for those who are using acoustic

On the other hand, recording in electric is easier. The type of audio that you get through your
audio mixer is as clear as it gets. One of the bigger challenges that you will face is the mixing
part, to perfectly manage the audio levels of the electric drums. Some instances would make the
sound feel a little bit too noisy in the drum, because of recording it using electric drums. But
overall, it would sound good.
Some techniques are not achievable when using electric drums. This is a huge setback
compared to using acoustic drums. Certain techniques would make the sound look amazing, but
it won't be that easy to achieve - or it's impossible - using electric drums. But as always, money
would make things flow around, even when using electric drums. If you can spend more to get a
better electric drum, then for sure you will be able to get a better output --- much closer to the
real ones.

The grass is always greener on the other side. There are different reasons why you should
consider the acoustic or consider the electric. But it will all depend on your reasons for use.
If you want to use the drums for some reason after recording, then getting the acoustic should
be a better idea. You can also do some practice sessions using your acoustic drums. Always
make sure that you have the best setting in using them since they make too much noise. If you
are very conservative of the sound around your place, then go get the electric one. If you love
doing quick recording sessions for different sorts of projects, this is a good choice.
