The word “sahara” means great desert in Arabic.
Although the Sahara covers about 25% of the African
continent and is comparable in size to the United States,
it is not the largest desert in the world. Because a desert
is defined as an area receiving less than 10 inches of precipitation
per year, Antarctica and the Arctic are both
larger deserts. The Sahara can only be said to be the
largest “hot” desert.

RIDING CONDITIONS
The route is entirely paved with a variety of road conditions
including wonderful sweeping roads as well as
some technical riding on twisty mountain roads with
several hair-pin turns. This tour is suitable for two-up
riding.
