Jimmy Bagga committed suicide by
hanging himself in prison after found
guilty of Drug trafficking charges
Jimmy Bagga hanged himself inside his jail cell on Saturday morning.The 62-year-old
was was discovered by prison guards shortly before 7am and pronounced dead a short
time later. He was found guilty of the charges of drug trafficking in the pub that he owned
along his brother. The incident took place in Jimmy’s pub where a young boy Joy
Augustine was accused of murdering Mark Matthews a pub employee who worked at
Jimmy’s pub.
The documents detailing his drug trafficking were unsealed
by the courts. The documents revealed that he was out of
town when this whole incident took place and had no
knowledge of this such incident.
Jimmy Bagga was being held without bail on charges of
conspiracy and drug trafficking where he had plead not
guilty to the charges.
The family members of Bagga are shocked and cannot
believe that he could take such a step that will lead to his
death. His daughter Miss Bagga said “ I can never believe
my father can do such a thing. He was being fabricated in
a wrong way and he was not even in town when this whole
incident took place. I am deeply hurt and saddened by his
demise.”
A gun was found in his pub which was registered under his name. Hence, all the evidence
was against Bagga and he was proved guilty of the charges. He was sentenced for life
imprisonment.
