Industry NewsWHO’S THE LEASTPROFESSIONAL?Roofers have scored poorly, but by nomeans the worst, in a survey of the publicto find who they believe are the mostunprofessional tradespeople.Interested in the perception of tradespeople,bathroom and shower specialistShowerstoyou surveyed 1,644 people to findout who they believe to be the mostunprofessional tradespeople.In the definition of ‘unprofessional’, thesurvey asked participants to take intoaccount the quality of work, price/ratescharged, manners, punctuality andcommunication skills of tradespeople.The survey showed that the majority of Britscrown kitchen fitters (73%) as the mostunprofessional tradespeople.Thereafter, 69% think tilers areunprofessional; whilst 65% feel the sameabout builders and 60% point to roofers asbeing unprofessional.At the other end, it seems floorers are themost professional tradespeople – with only22% classifying them as unprofessional.Additionally, those surveyed were asked toidentify the actions taken by tradespeoplethey deem to be the most unprofessional.From this, the survey showed that atradesperson not turning up whenarranged/agreed (81%) is the mostunprofessional thing they could do.Subsequently, 76% do not appreciate beingovercharged.
