HILARY 2020

PRESIDENT’S WELCOME

In this sombre time of year when Christmas trees lie slumped on

pavements and many try to atone for festive excess with a vow of

teetotalism, OUCA has plenty to offer.

Our weekly Port & Policy returns to St Giles’ Church Hall on

Sunday evenings and promises lots of spirited fun. Anyone with

ideas to suggest for debate motions should keep an eye out for a link

in our weekly emails.

An exciting range of speakers will be joining us in Oxford, with

highlights including veteran eurosceptic Daniel Hannan, party

chairman James Cleverly, and Thatcher biographer Charles Moore.

Our speaker events are free and open to all.

Our social calendar features much-loved classics such as Poker

Night and Pub Quiz as well as some innovations — what better way

to celebrate the crumbling of Labour’s Red Wall than a crewdate

with Northerners Society?

There are plenty of other ways to get involved: we will be organising

sandwich runs to help the homeless population of Oxford,

welcoming contributions to our revitalised blog, and trialling

telecanvassing as a new method of campaigning.

Finally, stay tuned for details of our Termly Dinner — due to take

place in Eighth Week, this promises to be a splendid celebration of

the end of term.
