TÜV Rheinland Products GmbH subjects selected FARE ® umbrella

models to strict quality testing. The criteria are:

After being awarded the TÜV certificate, the production of

these umbrellas is subject to an annual inspection of the

production facilities by TÜV which therefore guarantees a

Even our less expensive models excel in their high standards of quality

and special windproof features for better wind resistance. The majority

of FARE ® models are equipped with a reliable windproof system. The

highly flexible frame for these models turns over when hit by stronger

gusts of wind before the ribs break or the cover is torn from its

fastening.

A clean argument:

FARE ® products are tested for harmful

substances.

Labtech and other renowned and accredited testing institutes test our

products according to REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation

and Restriction of Chemicals). Alongside conformity with REACH, the

relevant legal directives for harmful substances are considered and

implemented for our products.

Seal example

Labtech Prüfungsgesellschaft mbH carries out a comprehensive test

on suitability for use for specific models, looking at aspects such as

wind resistance, lack of hazardous substances, and ease of use. After

obtaining the Labtech seal of approval, umbrella models are checked

at regular intervals regarding quality aspects. More information

A watertight argument:

Many FARE ® umbrellas are equipped

with a high-quality finish.

An even better pearl-off effect or dirt-repellent properties are

achieved with complex refinements, depending on the model:

• Teflon fabric protector is a coating that is water and dirt

repellent.

• Nanotechnology gives the umbrella cover a minutely rough

structure which prevents dirt and water from sticking to the fabric

and they simply pearl right off – this is the so-called lotus effect.

This coating is absolutely sealed and promotes a particularly

long-lasting product life.

FARE ® umbrellas have won several

renowned awards.

Red Dot Design Award

• This is the 11th time that a FARE ® product has been recognised

by the jury of 40 experts with the Red Dot Award: Product Design –

most recently in 2019 with its Mini umbrella FiligRain Only95

(art. 5062) and its AC alu golf umbrella FARE ® -Precious

(art. 7399) umbrella.

Promotional Gift Award

• The AC midsize umbrella FARE ® -Switch (art. 7905) was selected

winner of the 2018 Promotional Gift Award in the premium product

category.

PSI Sustainability Award

• In 2019, the AC mid-size regular umbrella ÖkoBrella (art. 7379)

took 3rd place in the ”Sustainable Product” category, which the

AOC mini pocket umbrella ÖkoBrella (art. 5429) had already won

in 2017.

can regrow will ensure consistent continuation of the entire forest – and with this – a good, long-term basis of life

for future generations.

our company, which are integrated into our core business. We want to strengthen our customer relations and tie

our employees to our establishment in the long-term.

The amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (amfori BSCI) is a

code of conduct based on the international working standards of the

ILO (International Labour Organization), which supports globally active

companies in building up ethical supply chains and monitors social

standards worldwide as well as optimising them continuously.

FARE ® is a member of amfori BSCI. Our production

sites for the manufacture of umbrellas have

been audited according to amfori BSCI

requirements and all have a valid audit result.

All amfori BSCI participants agree to the Code

of Conduct (CoC) and undertake to comply

with it. The amfori BSCI Code of Conduct comprises of the following

principles as just some examples:

Sustainability and social responsibility does not begin in your own

Our long-term supplier and business relations contributed to the

creation of modern manufacturing sites, where our products are made

today. This ensures that our suppliers are reliable and sustainable

partners.

Ecology

At FARE ® we ensure environmentally-friendly working processes

through measures such as CO 2

-neutral parcel dispatch, bundling

production orders and avoiding single item consignments as well as

reducing paper by utilising digital documents and much more.

Since FARE ® brought the first bamboo umbrella onto the market

in 2011, the ÖkoBrella range has continuously grown - from the

manually opened pocket umbrella (art. 5095) to the

award-winning AOC mini pocket umbrella (art. 5429)

and the good value AC regular umbrella (Art. 1122)

to the prize-winning AC midsize bamboo umbrella

(art. 7379). ÖkoBrella products are suitable for

sustainable communications in all sectors and for

every budget. This also applies to the new mini

pocket umbrella ÖkoBrella Shopping (art.

9159): Its sleeve is also a practical

shoulder bag, meaning there is no

need for plastic bags! The bag and

cover of the umbrella also consist

Thinking progressively is good - but acting progressively makes the difference. We don’t just consider existing

production processes as part of our sustainability strategy, but also look at new, progressive technologies.

When on the search for new, more sustainable production options,

we discovered a revolutionary dyeing process which dramatically

reduces both consumption of valuable raw materials as well as energy

consumption and environmental impact with hazardous matter. We

also use this process for our new waterSAVE cover material, which is

now used for the popular STYLE range, the Colorline umbrellas, and

the new FARE ® -Steel for the first time.

The yarn made from recycled plastic for our

waterSAVE cover material is already fully

dyed during the production process. In this

case, no water is required whatsoever. Far

fewer chemicals are used and the drying

time in energy-consuming machines is a

thing of the past.

The typical dyeing process for woven

fabrics requires large quantities of fresh

water, chemicals, and energy. As the

new process is a “dry” process, there is no

purification and treatment of the water beforehand

at all, saving a lot of energy.

Excitingly designed

An umbrella offers a huge variety of refinement possibilities. On the following four pages we show

you the different printing methods and their areas of application.

Screen printing

The technique of choice and a

proven track record. Up to eight fresh

colours may be used for logos, slogans,

funny texts or images. The best

possible quality and a long lifespan

are always at the forefront.

Dual printing

In order to ensure strong brightness and colours true to the original

when using coloured fabric, either dual printing is required or a

white undercoat is applied underneath the colour. The opacity of

the applied colour is then increased considerably.

Printing colour, white: This requires a dual printing process that is

calculated like two-colour printing. Preliminary costs for film, set up

and screen costs are only charged once per logo.

Coloured printing: In this case, we work with a white undercoat.

It is slightly smaller than the coloured motif to ensure that no white

is visible. Costs are incurred for the additional print colour and the

corresponding pre-printing costs.

Pricing tip: A colour print on white umbrellas is cheaper, because

a white undercoat is not required. The white undercoat is also not

needed on all covers in the colours silver, gold and black because

they have good coverage even without the white undercoat.

Colormagic ®

An exceptional way to turn dreary grey, rainy days into a happy

event is with Colormagic ® printing. As soon as the surface gets

wet, the white Colormagic ® print becomes transparent and the

underlying colour becomes visible.

Transfer printing

This means that photo-realistic motifs or motifs with very fine screens

and gradations can be perfectly implemented with transfer printing.

With this technique, the motif is printed onto a carrier film first and

transferred onto the cover by means of heat. Neon or metallic colours

can be used here on request.

Doming

Available in two-colours and in many different shapes

and sizes. Ideal for individual personalisation. Simple, flexible and

cost-effective. Very good adhesion properties. Labelling options:

Discreet and elegant for exclusive demands. Extremely sharp

contours and delicate representation of the tiniest details.

Particularly vivid three-dimensional effect and pleasant to hold.

Appropriate umbrellas with soft handles suitable for laser engraving

Refinement of transparent covers

Screen printing of up to four colours is possible thanks to the

high-quality polyethylene material on our AC regular umbrella

FARE ® -Pure (art. 7112) and our AC golf umbrella FARE ® -Pure

(art. 2333). Please note that a maximum of two panels can be

refined, or four upon request. An print-free panel must always be

between two printed panels in this case.

Customised audio logo

Alongside sight, hearing is the sense that takes in the most information.

You can take advantage of this opportunity for experience-focused

communication with the new AC Midsize regular umbrella FARE ® -Sound

(art. 7799). It is delivered by default with an excerpt from the classic “Singin’

in the Rain”, however, a jingle, audio logo or sound icon can be used that

plays every time the umbrella is opened.

Variable filling

With the mini pocket umbrella FARE ® -Fillit (art. 5052) your options

are only limited by your ideas and the size of the handle! Whether you

fill it with small products, a voucher, or have a sweet thank you, we’d

be delighted to help!

Blind embossing

Subtle tone-in-tone refinement is possible

using blind embossing in a maximum size of

100 K 70 mm on FARE ® microfiber towels.

Projection

It is now possible to present an image, logo or claim

in the dark. The handle of the oversize mini umbrella

FARE ® -Shine (art. 5077) has a built-in light that projects

an image. The required motif can be implemented with a

maximum of seven full colours without screen.

Customisations

Individual & versatile

With a little courage and by advance planning, individual customisations can be designed that are completely

tailor-made to match the customer's Corporate Identity. It is worth it: Many of these unique designs have

now developed into real cult items.

Cover colours and cover fabrics

Do you like one of the umbrellas from the stock range, but the entire

cover should have a different colour? Should one or more wedges

be coloured? Your ideas can be realised very well with our choice

of 18 standard colours (see article 5460). We can also produce the

cover fabric in your custom colour.

Wetlook

The umbrellas appear neutral at first glance. A hidden design

appears when wet thanks to the special printing technique. Individual

wetlook motifs are produced as customisations and are possible on

all FARE ® models.

All-over printing

Very popular variants for customisations are motifs that extend over

several panels or display a photo realistic image over the entire cover.

The panels are cut, sewn and fixed to the frame from material that

is pre printed edge to edge. Small fit inaccuracies can often not be

avoided – but the overall look is impressive.

All-over printing in Europe

The perfect alternative for all-over printing of your chosen motif in

small quantities! From a quantity of just 48 pieces and a delivery

time of around four weeks after approval, individual umbrellas can

be realised in two variants at an "all-inclusive price" (without initial

costs):

1115UK: With a seamless cover and therefore no laymark

differences. The edge of the cover is always bordered with

black piping, which means the seam may become slightly

waved. 1115UKA: It has eight sewn panels, which means

that Laymark differences of a couple of millimetre range

usually cannot be avoided. The advantages are printing up

to the edge and the perfect fit of the cover on the frame.

Screen printing – white double print or single print in black, silver or gold

Double print, white / white undercoat

A white undercoat is required in most cases to guarantee

brilliant colours and good contrasts. Visible white requires

a double print. The coverage and brightness of the applied

colour is then increased considerably. The result is a vivid

printed image.

Exception

Printing on white umbrellas does not require the white

undercoat. The colours silver, gold and black also have good

coverage even without the white undercoat.

Doming produces vivid colours and creates a particularly demanding,
