The Wanstead Society is a group of volunteers dedicated to protecting and enhancing one of the most
picturesque parts of London. We champion the conservation of our area’s heritage, and work to promote
Wanstead and neighbouring Snaresbrook wherever possible.
The Wanstead Society is a non-political organisation seeking to help our area by building constructive
working relationships with those in power.
Our main aims are to:
• Work with the Council and planners to protect and enhance the character of Wanstead

• Encourage, support and promote the viability of the High Street and the
local community
• Take part in the Wanstead Festival and care for the Corner House Garden
• Liaise with and lobby Councillors, GLA Members and MPs
