4 Care-Guide For
Eco-Friendly laundry
Fashion is constantly changing, but recently on an even more conscious level. Because if you want to take
care of our future, you must also take care of nature. For fashion, this means: Future meets Nature. We
use sustainable natural fibres and future-focussed technologies that give us a new selection of resourcesaving
materials. We combine these with our distinctive casual-feminine design, comfortable and durable
favourites, and fresh colours. This not only creates a new outlook on life but also a modern style. It
presents itself in a selection of looks and items of clothing that accompany us everywhere, which can
be combined again and again, and always remain pure and expressive.
Ecovero TM
VisCOSE
Why is ECOVERO TM Viscose even better
than regular viscose?
ECOVERO TM is the brand name for viscose made by the company Lenzing. Not only is it made exclusively
from sustainably grown wood fibres, but the material also fulfills the “EU Ecolabel” criteria for distribution
and disposal. In addition, ECOVERO TM fibres are completely traceable throughout their existence. For the
production of viscose, natural cellulose fibres from wood species such as bamboo, beech, pine or spruce
are processed into fine threads with the aid of a special spinning technique. The great thing about viscose
yarn is the versatility and durability of these fibres. They can be used for silky materials as well as fluffy or
intriguingly textured fabrics.

TEncel TM
What is the difference between
Lyocell and Tencel TM ?
Lyocell, much like viscose, is made from wood pulp, but in this case it is recycled wood. While
this leads to lyocell being slightly less versatile, it allows the production of a recycled fabric that
is as smooth, flowing and cooling as silk. Tencel TM is the brand name for lyocell from the company
Lenzing, which operates a closed water and solvent production cycle – making their material
even more environmentally-friendly and sustainable.

A white basic shirt is a lot of fun if it has been created under environmentally and human-friendly
conditions. Then, not only its style but also its production reflects a conscientious, timeless look.
It doesn‘t really need much more than blue-washed, modern-cut skinny jeans made from organic
cotton to complete this look. Like this you go – mindfully – out into the world.
inspired
by nature
Uncomplicated, silky skirts are a trend that has come to stay. They provide a touch of elegance
that can be contrasted with textured surfaces of seersucker blouses or canvas jackets. Satin skirts
made of viscose are a wonderfully uncomplicated item – made from material that is easy to care
for, durable, and produced from the wood fibres of sustainably managed forests.

Basics not only simplify outfit selection when it comes to crunch time in the morning. They are also
faithful companions when it comes to building a progressive wardrobe. Whether minimalism, colour joy,
or pattern love, basics help ensure that our statement pieces can be worn frequently without always
landing in the washing machine. Just a short airing and they are fresh again, reducing resources used
and helping expressive favourites last longer. They often accompany us for years and can themselves
be very style-defining.

RECYCLED
POlYESTER
Is recycled polyester made
from old garments?
Recycled polyester does not use any new raw materials and while recycled garments are
sometimes used, most of the material is made from old PET bottles. This means fewer bottles
end up in the garbage and at the same time spares other resources from being used, making
it doubly sustainable.

BEHIND
Architecture is an important aspect when considering
sustainability. Simplicity also means that the selection
of building material has been made purer.
Natural materials such as concrete, stone and wood
determine the impression of the rooms. Embedded in
the landscape, architecture and nature fuse together.
On campus, we opted for a ventilation and heating
system that complies with the latest environmental
guidelines. From 2020, through our Photovoltaic
system, we will produce almost 100 percent of our
own electricity. The area around the architecture is
also designed accordingly. The original biotope was
expanded, and thousands of trees were planted.
The surrounding nature park offers a view of our
very own forest, wide green areas and water full
of life. All perspectives in the building point towards
the green courtyards or directly to our nature park.
The reduced paper consumption for internal and
external documents also benefits the conservation
of natural habitats. Predominantly digital invoice
delivery not only saves paper but ensures the
sustainable use of transport as a resource. Not
having to use the postal service means reduced
CO² emissions.

A HOME
FOR
OUR
BEEs
For us, nature is not just inspiration to develop
products and create a good working environment.
We are serious when we say: we must contribute
to the conservation of nature. One issue that
concerns us locally in this context is bees. Yes, bees.
40 kg
HONEY
It‘s been a hard time for bees. Their populations are declining everywhere. But these agile insects contribute significantly
to the pollination of crops and green areas. That‘s why we have set up an ecological home for them on our campus.
Since April 2015, several bee colonies have been living on the campus. And to ensure they feel totally at home here, we
have even trained several employees as beekeepers. Our employees are responsible for the preservation of these beautiful
creatures and the collection of our on-site honey, which we also like to use in our Campus kitchen.
PER YEAR
The motto of our Campus kitchen is: „seasonal food, locally sourced“. Depending on the season, there are wide variety
changing fruits and vegetables on the menu, and the regionally produced food served each day is fresh and full of healthy
ingredients. Proximity to the producers of these foods ensures transparency, responsibility and trust. In addition, we are
helping to strengthen regional demand and ensuring unnecessary food transport can be avoided. In total, we process over
5.000 kilos of regional vegetables on campus each year.
BCI
COTTON
Why is an initiative like
BCI Cotton so important?
BCI, or the “Better Cotton Initiative‘‘, is the world‘s largest sustainability initiative in cotton
production. It supports cotton farms in switching to production methods that require less
chemical usage and lower water consumption. This is something that everyone benefits from.

Organic
cotton
Why is organic cotton
better than regular cotton?
Cotton fabric is both durable and feels great to wear. Its popularity has led to a vast amounts
of cotton being grown in countries around the world. However, cotton plants typically require
chemicals to protect them from vermin and weeds. On the other hand, organic cotton relies
on agriculture without chemicals. This not only benefits the environment but also our skin, as
wearing organic cotton fabrics reduces any chance of chemical irritation.

nATURAL CARE WITH SUSTAINABLE
LAUNDRY DETERGENTS

CARE
GUIDE
FOR
ECO-LAUNDRY
Thoroughly caring for our laundry is important. After all, clothes should accompany us for a long time. If
the detergent used is as environmentally friendly as possible, that’s even better. With this in mind, washing
powder is better than liquid detergent. It can be dosed more economically, is packed in cardboard instead
of plastic, and contains fewer preservatives and surfactants.
homemade
olive soap

Ingredients:
8 tablespoons washing soda
50 g olive oil soap
4 litres of water
Process the 50 g olive oil soap into flakes with a grater and place in a bucket. Heat the 4 litres of water and
pour it over the flakes while hot. Mix well with a whisk or blender until all flakes have dissolved. Now add
the soda and stir again vigorously. Allow detergent to cool and place in an empty detergent bottle or similar
container for storage. For each wash, 200 ml to 250 ml of this mixture is enough to remove stubborn stains.
Natural
Soap nuts 3
Denim care

for the freezer
A traditional method of cleaning laundry is washing with soap nuts. The nuts contain washing-active
substances that dissolve grease and light stains as well as conventional detergents. The main difference?
The whole process happens in a purely plant-based way.
The most effective step towards environmentally friendly textile care? Wash less. Bacteria that cause
unpleasant smells in jeans are more sensitive to cold than to heat. They survive 30 to 40 degrees in the
washing machine, but not the freezing cold of a freezer or an ice cube bath.
WE ARE THINKING
ABout our PLANET
The journey to greater sustainability
is not a sprint. It‘s a marathon. Step by
step we will discover what a naturally
and organically growing future can look
like. It is important to continually focus
our attention on the right goals.
Environmental protection is a matter
of consciousness. It has to be positioned
at the core of every decision. It is not
separate to our other goals, it is part
of them. This awareness is with us in
the motto „be mindful“. Responsible
people come together from all areas
of our company in order to maintain
awareness and drive progress for our
goal of sustainability. It is clear to
us, that this fight is not about a few
individuals who do everything perfectly,
but everyone doing a lot of small things
right, together. We want sustainability
to become the foundation of a global
culture, economy, and community – with
passion, style, and optimism.
