Tibetische Weisheit
Als meine Eltern sich Anfang der 2000er Jahre für eine Waldbestattung
entschieden und gemeinsam mit der Familie einen Baum
auswählten, gab es nur einen Ort in Deutschland, an dem diese
Möglichkeit bestand.
Seit einigen Jahren besuche ich diesen Wald nun ab und an in
stillem Gedenken und so entstand die Idee, mich fotografisch mit
dem Thema Waldbestattung auseinanderzusetzen. Eine Recherche
ergab, dass diese Form der Bestattung von immer mehr Menschen
gewählt wird, dementsprechend ist die Zahl der Begräbniswälder
in den letzten Jahren stark gestiegen.
In meinem Projekt wollte ich die Stimmung dieser Wälder einfangen,
ich tauchte ein in diese Welt, indem ich umherwanderte und
das Licht, die Ruhe und den Raum auf mich wirken ließ. Die ruhige
Vorgehensweise der analogen Fotografie passte zu meinem Prozess
des Wandelns, ich hielt Momente der Stille fest über ein Jahr,
vier Jahreszeiten, Wachstum und Tod, Erscheinen und Verschwinden,
Gedeih und Verfall allen Lebens in der Natur.
So entstand eine fotografische Erzählung in Momentaufnahmen
über die Vielfalt, Zeitlosigkeit und Stille dieser Wälder.

When my parents decided to have a burial in a forest in the early
2000s and chose a tree together with the family, there was only one
place in Germany where this was possible.
For several years now I have been visiting this forest now and then in
silent memory and so the idea arose to deal photographically with the
topic of forest burial. Research has shown that more and more people
choose this form of interment, so the number of forests has increased
significantly in recent years.
In my project I wanted to capture the mood of these places, I immersed
myself in this world by wandering around and letting the light, the
silence and the space work on me. The mindful approach of analog
photography suited my process of walking around, I captured moments
of silence for over a year, four seasons, growth and death, emergence
and disappearance, prosperity and decay of all life in nature.
This is how a photographic narrative was created in snapshots about
the diversity, timelessness and tranquility of these forests.
