Alloycraft J-455, the perfect boat for me.

I had been thinking for a long time to upgrade to a better fishing and allround boat to tow around

water and fjords when the needs arises. Talking about needs, it is of course first and foremost fishing

for different species, but also predatory fishing for perch and pike.

I was looking for a boat that was stable, sturdy and easy to take anywhere, but still meet all my

needs so that the fishing itself could take place in the best possible conditions.

After looking around, the choice fell on the Alloycraft J-455 with a 40 hp Hidea motor that has been

flawless since day one. After a season of fishing I am very happy with my choice.

The boat can be fitted and built in a number of ways, but I have chosen a pulpit with a windscreen

and a few side pockets to store equipment in. Besides that, I also have the casting deck with the

pedestal seat that enable me to throw in all directions. In the casting deck I have installed the live

well where I can store bait or captured fish. That way, I can concentrate on my fishing.

The master itself is my Humminbird Helix 9X Chart plotter/plumb that is placed behind the windscreen.

The Humminbird Helix is a great product that makes my life a little easier, but I still have to

find and catch the fish myself. However, now I can spend all my time doing just that!

One of the big advantages with an aluminum boat is that it is virtually maintenance-free and very

robust in every way. It is very important when I remote control the boat with my electric motor in

shallow water, or drag the boat up on an islet. To sum things up, this is a year-round boat i am going

to enjoy for years to come. I highly recommend it if you are into recreational fishing, but it could just

as easily be turned in to the perfect boat for your entire family.
