ADVERTISING FEATURE Floral Fringe Fair A quirky, quality, friendly event with a vintage twist - Saturday May 30th & Sunday May 31st at Leonardslee Gardens... We are very excited to announce that our ninth Floral Fringe Fair has moved in 2020 to Leonardslee Gardens, Lower Beeding, Nr Horsham, West Sussex RH13 6PP The Floral Fringe Fair will be held on May 30th and 31st from 10.30am to 5pm both days. There is ample free parking near to the fair. For visitors to the fair the entrance price is adults £8.50, children under 14 £3.00, under 4’s free. The first two occupants of a classic pre- 1979 car £7.00 each. While we will have a couple of card machines at the entrance this year, we still appreciate cash as it keeps the queues down. Some of the most unique, small businesses at the fair will not have card machines so bringing cash is especially important. This year for the first time Early Bird tickets can be bought by going onto Leonardslee Gardens website www.leonardsleegardens.co.uk Entry to the fair excludes the gardens as the fair is situated in the deer park to the south of the gardens. Entry to the gardens can be purchased once at the fair, at a specially reduced rate. Dogs are welcome on leads. The Floral Fringe Fair still has the theme of encouraging visitors to make their gardens wildlife-friendly but it has evolved into much, much more. It has become a unique fair with personality and atmosphere. It is very popular with families and dog owners, as well as lovers of all things artistic, creative and foodie! It is described by visitors as ‘Quirky, High Quality, Informative, Friendly and Eclectic’. So this has become our Mantra. The fair is a must for plantaholics and wildlife enthusiasts with many small specialist nurseries and wildlife stalls. We try to make our fair special by ensuring, as much as possible, that everything on sale is handmade or homemade, or at least designed and produced by the stall holder selling it, except in the case of Steampunk and Vintage stalls. We are particularly keen on promoting and choosing businesses from Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire although we will consider stallholders from further afield if they are offering something unique. The fair is all about artists and makers and producers of aesthetically beautiful things, food that is locally grown and all things green, health enhancing and countryside based. We have invited classic car clubs and owners so hope to attract many beautiful and interesting classic and vintage vehicles. There is no need to register to bring your classic car this year. Just turn up anytime after 10am on Sat 30th or Sun 31st.. or both days! We are keen that people dress in style to bring a touch of Goodwood Revival to the fair. 2018 saw the introduction of an inventive new flavour of Steampunk. It is typically English, massively creative and totally eccentric, so fits in well with our ethos. We also are very excited to announce that the talented and eccentric Ichabod Steam will be bringing his submarine to the fair again and performing his new “Darkside” show. There will be a variety of live singing, music and dancing all day all weekend. We encourage visitors to bring their picnic rugs, buy food at the fair and picnic on the grass in the deer park, where the fair is taking place. We have many food stalls selling both hot food such as halloumi burgers, BBQ, pizzas as well as speciality breads, cheeses and salads, artisan sausage rolls and falafel. There will be plenty of options for Veggies, vegans and gluten-free visitors. Make sure you don’t miss our pop-up vintage cafés, beer tent, with all sorts of goodies available such as ice creams, Gin cocktails, Pimms, tea and coffee. The fair will never grow to be huge as we want to enjoy it ourselves, you can expect around 140 stalls. We want it to be a very special ‘boutique’ experience for the visitor.
