The tales following vary for different people; some found love, some had a blast celebrating their loved one, while some others lost their partner. And of course, there were the singles who celebrated with their unmarried friends or just back home to chill with wine and ice cream. Most hotel rooms were booked for hours, eateries/fast food even several beer parlours and pepper soup spots were also occupied by lovers. All that is over now. The question now is, what next? What is the next step to take after Cupid’s celebration? Usually, after a major celebration like that, we hear of men becoming broke, some ladies getting pregnant and many relationships destroyed. If it turns out your Valentine day didn’t go down well, here are a few things you can do to get you lively again. *First, you have to pamper yourself. It’s super important to have “me time “ This can be anything that gets you feeling spoiled such as taking a break to curl up, reading that novel that you keep eyeing but never able to pick it up. Also, put on the headphones to listen to the tunes that you have recently downloaded. *Try having a spa day, if it happens that you don’t have time for an entire day, you can just settle for a facial or maybe a pedicure. A hot rock massage might also do the trick as it could help melt away any stress that you might have. It is really all about taking care of yourself. Taking a class or being volunteer is another way to go. If there is a class on your bucket list, move it over to your accomplish list, it does not have to be a full semester course. There could be day/night classes for 6 weeks or weekend classes. Bear in mind that there are all kinds of classes out there ranging from cooking, to photography, dance, music to learning new languages. You can always take a look at the different institutions and any online programs in your area for options. Volunteering on its own is all about your passion. It is also flexible to work around your schedule. The opportunities are everywhere from mentoring of school children, to helping out at events. No matter what your interests are, there is a volunteer job that matches your heart desires. The above activities promote self-confidence and is also a great way to meet people with similar passions. Get to spend time with friends and family; nothing binds friends and family like an afternoon outing at the movie. It can be very relaxing and fun to be around people that have been there with you, through thick and thin. Enjoy the time to just release stress and be yourself. There is something about Mother Nature that is refreshing and invigorating. For those who may not be hiking enthusiasts, there are lots of other activities to do outside. Also, there are some neighbor-hood attractions that are opened all year round. You could also play tourist for an afternoon and explore your town on foot. The sole aim is to disconnect from the everyday routine to help reset and energize, so enjoy the great outdoors. Nothing helps moving on better than letting go. Clean out on that one closet that you look away from every time you walk by it, give out those clothes that you have not worn in a year to family, friends or the less privileged. Try and recycle old electronics that are sitting around collecting dust, this will give you a sense of accomplishment and closure when you clear things out of your home that you no longer need. Valentine’s Day may be over for another year, but its the perfect time to let go, and energise.
