ANTIDOTE :
“In a flawed world, we must
remain to seek the beauty.”
Antidote, the duo from Worcester, Western Cape created
this emotional and heartwarming song dedicated to a few
YOUNG fallen angles: Cohen Abrahams, Nathan Naush
Williams and Kaylin April. The pair is known for their
“unfiltered bars”, in this Music Video they take it back to
the hood where they explain the difficulties growing up and
how we should be grateful if we are still alive. Irvin van
Rooy (@irv.xcv)(Director&Editor) beautifully displayed the
in-depth message Jamie Arnoldus(@ja_like_jay_and_mie_

Bullet hole found in “Last Supper” Painting
In a modern painting of “The Last Supper”, a bullet was
discovered through the figure of Jesus Christ. The damage
is seen on the three-and-a-half metre tall canvas by Lorna
May Wadsworth. The hole was discovered when the painting
was prepared for display at the Graves Gallery in Sheffield
It had previously been on display behind the altar of a
Gloucestershire country church for a decade.
Commenting on the damage to her painting, the artist said
in a statement: “Initially, when I first saw the damage, I was
so upset that I considered pulling the painting from the exhibition.
However, it was also very important to me that whoever
did the damage didn’t ‘win’.”
The position of the bullet hole, on Jesus’s right side, had
caused some to speculate whether it was supposed to be representative
of the final wound he sustained from a Roman
lance while hanging on the cross. When asked whether there
could be a possible racist motive behind the damage, Wadsworth
commented: “I hope it was just mindless vandalism
as the alternative is too horrible to contemplate.”

Timbuktu, Mali is home of one of the oldest
universities in the world, established in 982 CE.
According to African scholar Shamil Jeppie in The
Meanings of Timbuktu:
“...Timbuktu is a repository of history, a living archive
which anybody with a concern for African history should
be acquainted with. Timbuktu may be hard to get to but
it played an essential role as a centre of scholarship under
the Songhay state until the invasion from the rulers of
Marrakesh in 1591, and even thereafter it was revived.”
