which is paid by the local authority. Housing benefit can also help towards some
service charges.
Help with health costs
Everyone 60 or over gets free prescriptions and eye tests. If you have less
than £16,000 in savings you may be able to get some help towards dental
treatment, glasses and travel costs to hospital if you fill in an HC1 form.
Give yourself a full money makeover
As you retire it’s likely you’ll have less cash to live off than you had before.
As such, it’s crucial to ensure you’re budgeting correctly and not overpaying for
anything. So first use the free budget planner tool at www.moneysavingexpert.
com/budgetting then go to www.moneysavingexpert.com/moneymakeover which

£1,000s better off after just a day.
