Pip’s Phonics is based on Synthetic Phonics which is used in English speaking countries to teach
children the basic skills of reading and writing. It is a process of teaching children the relationship
between letters (graphemes) and sounds (phonemes) for reading, spelling and handwriting. The word
synthetic relates to the process of identifying, sounding out and then synthesising or blending the
sounds in a word from left to right in order to read it. This enables learners to decode from writing to
speaking.

Improves Vocabulary
Nicole and Tommy set off on a trip and take photos
that show the world around them.
They teach vocabulary related to their journey, such as
the names of animals, continents, means of transport,
toys, and food and drink.
They create photo albums which include a slideshow
of vocabulary with animated and voiced slides. Young
learners practise the words willingly because they
respond to the interesting context and the feedback
provided.
Interactive Appeal
Children will associate the animated picture with the
caption and the recording very quickly. The words are
also used in a meaningful context.
A unique motivation system keeps a child engaged in
learning, thus improving their ability to focus.
Additional Features
Alphabet – letters, their visual representations as
well as pronunciation recordings, followed by a set
of activities.
Numerals – numbers from 1 to 20 with their graphic
representations and audio recordings, followed by
a set of activities.
Dictionary – a visual dictionary with all the words
presented in the program.
Speech recognition system – pronunciation practice
with a picture that becomes coloured when the word
is pronounced correctly by the child.
Games – 4 entertaining language games based on
the vocabulary presented in the program.
Flashcards – a set of printable black-and-white
illustrations of words introduced in the program.
Apart from the audio feedback, Tommy provides visual
feedback showing whether the child’s response is
correct or not.
Each completed activity is rewarded with a short
animated film. Completion of the program is rewarded
with a printable diploma, vocabulary, plus CLIL-based
projects to be done in class groups.

The Project Book Series has 4 levels starting from the first year of preschool through to 2 nd grade.
Each book has a unique style with a pocket, so students can store their projects. Each book has
different topics that can be taught in any order. The book also contains units related to special days
as well as CLIL. The CLIL topics are in line with what is being taught in the MOE Maths and Social
Science lessons. Each topic has activities that can be completed by the students. These include
puzzles, listening and writing activities.
The aim of this course is to practice everyday language through project-based material. Students are able
to revise vocabulary already required and use these words in an everyday, natural situation. The book not
only develops speaking skills, but also helps develop writing, listening and use of English.

Teacher’s Book: The teacher’s book has at least two ideas for projects with each topic. This can include
whole class projects, group projects or individual projects that help develop critical thinking and problemsolving
skills.
The Project Book Series has the following features:
It allows students to learn through student–
centered activities.
It has 15 topic based main units and 4 units based
on festivals and events.
Each unit is an envelope that can hold the child’s
projects. At the two sides of the envelopes, there
are activities that can be applied in the class.
The teacher’s guide gives two suggestions
for projects, but at the end of the day, you
can add as many projects as you want.
Moreover, at the end of the year you have a
great book that shows the student’s journey
through an entire school year.
