Denman
A WEALTH OF
OPPORTUNITIES
After celebrating its 70th birthday in 2018,
Denman remains an important place for learning
for both members and non-members, with a
growing number and extensive variety of courses
available, led by expert tutors.
D
enman’s digital presence has
increased this year. Its
website updates have made
online bookings easier, now
accounting for up to 45% of total
bookings. Over the last 12 months,
several promotions have run to
entice new participants to fill
courses and Friends of Denman are
offered 10% off courses and events.
Day visits at Denman are growing
in popularity, with 114 delivered
and over 1,300 people served an
afternoon tea experience from
October 2018 to September 2019.
However, Denman must build
additional revenue streams to
support its longevity and we are

delighted to see a rise in our
external bookings, where
companies and individuals hire
rooms and the grounds for various
activities including wakes,
corporate meetings and
networking events. Denman’s
biggest event was held in July 2019,
a summer party for a local
organisation which generated
£10,762 profit in just one day.
Wedding bookings at Denman are
increasing with one booked in
December 2019 and further dates
planned for 2020. We are extremely
grateful to all Denman supporters
and pass on a special thanks to
