We take our environmental responsibilities seriously.
We responsibly source materials and utilise factories that possess fair
and appropriate employee conditions.
Wherever possible, the waste generated from our production process
is recycled. Alexander Rose are careful not to “over-package” our
products and we always use recyclable packaging wherever possible.
Alexander Rose have pledged to eliminate the use of all avoidable
plastic waste. By the end of 2019 our objective is that there will be
no single use plastic used in any of our packaging or warehouse
operations.

SINGLE USE PLASTIC POLICY
Within the context of our Environmental Policy, we have made a
commitment to minimising our use of plastics and beating the UK
Government’s target of eliminating avoidable single-use plastic waste
before 2042. Our stated intention is to eliminate the use of single-use
plastic within our business by the end of summer 2019.

3D CAD DRAWINGS
Your personal Account Manager will visit you on site to discuss your
requirements and budget and give advice if needed. We will additionally
take photos and measurements of the area. For overseas customers,
you can send us images and measurements via email to your Account
Manager, who can then provide you with the same service.
Your Account Manager will put together some options for you then,
working with our in-house Graphic Designer, will map out your furniture
onto a CAD drawing of your venue, whether it be a balcony, terrace,
conservatory or poolside.
Once the area has been drawn, it will be simple to move furniture
around or even go for a completely different look so you can make sure
you are getting exactly what you want and need. The drawings will be
sent to you, along with a formal quotation.

FRESCO
The Fresco collection is crafted from handmade aluminium frames
coated in a premium quality powder to protect against the elements.
Frame choices are available in flint or shell colours. Table tops come in
a choice of Roble, slatted aluminium or HPL in sand or grey.
Chairs are available in slatted aluminium or sling, and the stackable
armchairs come with Roble timber arm rests as standard. The slings
on the Fresco Chairs and Sunbeds are made of Batyline fabrics. This
premium quality sling guarantees extreme resistance to climatic
conditions and UV exposure with no sagging.
MAINTENANCE
The Fresco frames and table tops can be wiped clean with warm soapy
water and a microfibre cloth. We can supply touch up paint on request
for any surface scratches.
The chair slings can be wiped down with a damp microfibre cloth and
a household cleaning spray. We would not recommend using soap
products on the Batyline as this can create a build up of residue.
The HPL table tops can be wiped clean with warm soapy water and a
microfibre cloth. We recommend Teak Shield is applied to the Roble
tops to prevent staining from food and drinks. The timber then needs
to be deep cleaned quarterly with a soft bristle brush and warm soapy
water to lift any stains. A thin layer of Teak Shield can then be reapplied.
The Roble will weather to a silvery grey colour within 6-12 months.

WATERPROOF CUSHION FABRIC
The Beach Lounge cushions are made from a tough 300gsm/m2 polyester with a colour fastness to light ±7. The outside
of the fabrics has a water-resistant finish applied and on the rear side is the polyethylene (PE) layer that makes all the
fabrics in the Beach Lounge collection 100% waterproof. Covers are sewn using an unbreakable outdoor rot-proof
marine grade thread, giving a lifelong strength to the seams.
VENTED MESH PANEL
In each of the seat and back cushions there is a sewn in vented mesh panel made from our durable Rose Sling material;
this allows the air to escape when in use and returns the cushion back to its original shape after use. This design feature
gives the Beach Lounge that luxurious sinking sensation and all round comfort.
HOLLOW FIBRE FILLING
The soft hollow fibre filling is fitted inside a breathable polypropylene (PP) interliner. This casing has excellent abrasion
and antibacterial qualities. The internal ‘pillow’ is made up in compartments, which prevents the filling material from
moving around and losing its shape over time.
CUSHION TOGGLE
The cushion toggles are made from hard-wearing colourfast ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and are fitted with an
elasticated waterproof cord with a natural rubber core and a braided polyester outer sleeve. The toggle cord is joined
together with zinc plated metal crimps and covered in a plastic sleeve in order to protect the paint finish of the frames.
The toggles are easily fitted through the perforated holes in the frames.

BEACH LOUNGE
The Beach Lounge is the result of a collaboration between Alexander
Rose and UK based designer, Carsten Astheimer.
The unique difference of this collection is the ultra-comfortable,
waterproof cushions. Comfort, versatility and functionality combine to
make the Beach Lounge perfect for outdoor lounging. The cushions
can be left outside 365 days of the year.
Beach Lounge cushions come with a 2 year warranty, and are available
in five different colours (Grey, Taupe, Jade, Ochre and Blue).
MAINTENANCE
The Beach Lounge frames and table tops can be wiped clean with warm
soapy water and a microfibre cloth. We can supply touch up paint on
request for any surface scratches.

The cushions can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a microfibre
cloth. For stubborn stains on the cushions a diluted bleach solution (1 part
YEAR
bleach to 1 part water) is recommended. They are not machine washable.
WARRANTY
If cushions are exposed to humid and damp conditions for more than 3
- 4 weeks at a time, we recommend that the cushion inners are removed

from the covers and kept in a dry room to air thoroughly to prevent the
build-up of any moisture inside the cushion.

CORDIAL
Introduced in 2018, the “Cordial” collection is our most innovative design
for outdoor furniture. Hard-wearing materials mixed with stylish design
makes stunning furniture that works just as well inside as it does out.
Our Cordial collection is crafted from tubular frames which are
handmade in powder coated aluminium. A choice of tables are offered
to seat 2, 4, 6 or 8 people. Table top options are available in either our
beautiful Roble wood or in durable HPL, with colours to complement
the frames.
The chairs and sofas have been hand woven with a marine grade 100%
olefin braided rope. The 15mm wide rope has a solid rubber core to
give a more substantial and tactile quality product This ensures that
the rope does not become saturated and will dry quickly even after
heavy downpours of rain.
Cushions come in a choice of 3 colours (Anthracite, Oatmeal or
Charcoal) and are 100% waterproof. Cordial cushions come with a 2
year warranty.
MAINTENANCE

PORTOFINO
The Alexander Rose Portofino range is manufactured using mild steel
which has one layer of rust protection, a layer of primer and two layers
of powder coating treatment for a smooth and metallic finish. This
gives a combined coating thickness of 0.25mm in comparison to an
industry standard powder coating of only 0.08mm - 0.12mm. Powder
coating the frames twice provides an effective layer of skin for the
furniture, protecting it against small scratches. Portofino can be left
outside in all weathers.
Portofino comes with a 2-year commercial warranty. The polyester
cushions come with a 1 year commercial warranty.
MAINTENANCE
Portofino requires minimal maintenance and can be cleaned with a
damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or bleach.

Our Roble collection provides some of the most beautiful outdoor furniture
available in a selection of contemporary and traditional designs.
Manufactured in our own factory in Bolivia, this timber is extremely durable.
It has a smooth lustre, with a closely interlocked light yellow grain.
If left untreated, Roble will mellow to an attractive silver grey
appearance over a period of 3-6 months.
®
Our Roble is FSC 100% certified.
MAINTENANCE
Roble does not require treatment to extend its durability. To maintain the
light yellow appearance, a water-based protector or sealer can be used.
We recommend Teak Shield is applied to table tops in high usage areas
to prevent staining from food and drink. It is also advised that they are
deep cleaned quarterly with a soft bristle brish and warm soapy water.
Once dried, Teak Shield can be re-applied.
If kept in continuous damp conditions, Roble timber can develop
fungus in the form of black spotting. This is part of the weathering

process and should be left to cycle, eventually mellowing to a silver
grey colour.

SHERWOOD
Our Sherwood range is new for the 2019 season. The collection
includes many of our most popular designs in a treated Acacia timber,
so whether you are purchasing a bench or a dining set you will find
something to suit your taste and budget.
The brushed finish of this collection is achieved by treating the wood
prior to coating it in a chestnut brown polyurethane paint.

All our Acacia is FSC 100% certified.
MAINTENANCE
The Sherwood can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a microfibre
cloth. Alexander Rose can provide a small pot of Sherwood paint on
request to apply to any surface scratches.
The look and feel of our Sherwood furniture is designed for it to be left
to age naturally, however should you wish to treat your furniture this
can be done by lightly sanding it down periodically and re-applying a
coat of polyurethane paint
Alternatively you can leave your Sherwood furniture to weather to a
silvery grey within 12-18 months.

PAINTED ACACIA
Our New England furniture consists of four white benches, manufactured
using our Acacia timber coated in a satin polyurethane paint.
Our Old England furniture consists of three distinctive dining sets
as well as a lounge set - two in a brushed grey finish with matching
benches and one in a brushed grey finish with woven bucket chairs.
The furniture is finished in a durable polyurethane paint.
All our Painted Acacia is FSC 100% certified.

MAINTENANCE
Our New England and Old England furniture can be cleaned with warm

over time to an attractive silver/grey.
Each piece has been treated with preservative in order to make it
suitable for outdoor use. Our Pine collection is a popular choice in
many pub gardens, care homes and hotels around Europe.
MAINTENANCE
Each piece has been treated to category 3 in order to make it suitable
for outdoor use; this gives it long term resistance to decay. Pine must be
retreated annually with a softwood preservative such as Cuprinol or Ronseal.

from responsibly managed forests in Eastern Europe. Each piece has
been treated in order to make it suitable for outdoor use and finished
in a slate grey colour.
Our Bay Lounge range is a modular set, meaning it can be configured in
multiple different shapes to suit your outdoor space. The planter offered
is also multi-purpose and can double up as a footstool or a storage unit.

MONTE CARLO
The Monte Carlo collection is manufactured using 3mm round textured
synthetic HDPE weave which is hand woven onto powder coated
aluminium frames by our highly skilled team of in-house weavers.
In common with all our woven collections Monte Carlo requires minimum
maintenance and can be left outside in all weather. The collection is
equally suitable for indoor pool areas.
The cushions are made from our very tough olefin fabric and are available
as standard in Charcoal, although other fabrics are available on request.
The Monte Carlo range comes with a 2 year commercial warranty.
Olefin cushions come with a 2 year commercial warranty.
MAINTENANCE
We recommend that woven furniture is cleaned at least once a year. A
pressure hose on a wide spray setting is acceptable to use on woven
chairs at a distance of approximately one metre from the product.
Tables should be cleaned carefully with a sponge or soft scrubbing pad
and a cleaning agent.
To clean the table top glass, we suggest the use of any household glass
or window cleaner. Olefin cushions can be cleaned using a microfibre
cloth and mild bleach solution.

BESPOKE
Alexander Rose are able to create bespoke designs with low minimum
order quantities, which sets us apart from other outdoor furniture
manufacturers.
We will work with you on the design of your product and produce technical
drawings for your approval.
Bespoke weave production takes place at our own factory in Cebu, the
Philippines, which means we do not require high minimum order quantities.
We have a very wide selection of weave colours to choose from to help
you create the perfect look for your outdoor space.
If you have a project with a bespoke timber design, whilst the minimum
order quantities are higher, we can produce dining sets or sun loungers to
meet your specification. These can be manufactured in either teak, acacia,
mahogany or pine.
For all bespoke products there will be a minimum lead time of 14 weeks.

For security, we can supply bolt down furniture anchors for either soft
or hard ground to give you piece of mind.

HARDWOOD PARASOLS
Alexander Rose hardwood parasols are operated

It is essential to use an Alexander Rose base to
add stability. We recommend that parasols are not
left up in windy conditions. These parasols come

CANTILEVER PARASOLS
Our elegant cantilever parasols can be positioned
to provide maximum shade. They appear to float
above the furniture and can be manually rotated to
follow the sun. They are free standing, which allows
you to position the furniture underneath rather than
around a central pole as with conventional designs.
The crank mechanism enables effortless use.
The parasols are made using lightweight durable
polyester fabric which is water resistant and easy to
clean. To clean your parasol we advise that the fabric
is kept attached to the frame. For best results use
a soft brush or broom and warm soapy water. For
more stubborn stains the canopy can be removed
and washed at 30˚C. Once washed it is important
to put the canopy back on the frame before it dries.

BASES
COMPOSITE BASE (12kg)
The composite base is for use with parasols being
used through the centre of a table. It has 2 locking
handles on the stem of the base to secure the parasol
in place, minimising movement.
GRANITE BASES
For freestanding parasols we recommend using
either a GB20 (20kg) or GB30 (30kg), however if you
are using parasols through the centre of a table you
can use the GB11 (11kg) for a 4 seater set and GB20
(20kg) or GB30 (30kg) for 6 seater sets or more.

CUSHION STORAGE BAGS
Our cushion bags come in 3 sizes; small, medium and large, to
accommodate your set of cushions. All of our bags are weather
resistant. We recommend storing the cushions in the bag in a dry place
when not required.

WATERPROOF CUSHIONS
FABRIC
The high specification cushions are made using a tough
300gsm/m2 polyester with a colour fastness to light ±7. The
outside of the fabrics has a pre-treated water resistant finish
applied and on the rear side is the polyethylene (PE) layer
that makes the fabrics 100% waterproof.
The cushion fabric will dry in the sunshine within 1one hour,
although this may take longer in cloudy or damp conditions.
SEAMS
Cushion covers are sewn using a marine grade thread, giving
strength to the seams. The seams are then sealed with a
state of the art waterproof taping machine. This ensures that
no water can get in through the seams.
ZIP
The zip is protected by a downward flap, which allows water
to run over the flap without coming into any contact with the
zip. It is therefore essential that the cushions are placed the
right way up, to prevent water collecting in the flap.
VENTED MESH PANEL
Our thicker cushions have a sewn in vented mesh panel
made from our durable Rose Sling material; this allows the
air to escape when in use and returns the cushion back
to its original shape after use. This design feature gives a
luxurious sinking sensation and all round comfort.

MADE TO MEASURE CUSHIONS

In order to produce your made to measure cushions, we will
need a template cushion to work from, or failing this photos
of the furniture the cushions are being made for and exact
measurements.
STRAP
LENGTH
We will need to know your choice of fabric and whether
you require piping. We would not advise having piping on
waterproof cushions.
FABRIC
We have a choice of 7 fabrics to choose from, with an
optional waterproof backing on. Your account manager also
has a large fabric selection swatch book from Pintail and
Sunbrella, two of the world’s foremost fabric producers.
You are also able to specify your own fabric which you can
either send to our Head Office address, or we can purchase
on your behalf (service charge applies).

LEAD TIME
Standard lead time for made to measure cushions will be 3-6
weeks dependent on the project size.

BENCH ENGRAVINGS
Alexander Rose offers an engraving service with
three options: brass plaque, stainless steel plaque
and direct engravings onto our furniture.
If you are looking for something unique we offer a
direct engraving service. Your inscription is carved
directly into the timber by a computer-aided
engraving machine. A direct engraving will mellow
down along with the bench to a silver/grey finish if
left untreated.

FURNITURE ANCHORS
Our soft ground anchors come with solid brass plates
that screw onto the outside legs. These have sleeves
to allow the anchors to pass through and penetrate
the surface. When an anchor approaches its maximum
depth (500mm) a curved fluke is released to grip the
bench further into the surface, adding more security.
Our hard ground anchors are designed to be used
with concrete. They have a maximum depth of
110mm and require a 20mm masonry drill bit to
install them.

Teak Shield
Alexander Rose manufactures garden furniture
which will last for many years.
Over time, as part of the natural weathering
process, cracks and splits will appear in the wood,
particularly on the end grain and to a lesser extent
on the surface. This is a normal characteristic for
any timber which remains outdoors. Our timber
furniture is designed with this in mind and its
strength and durability will remain unaffected.
Wooden furniture can be treated with our specially
formulated care products to slow down the
weathering process and to prevent stains caused
by food and drink. Alternatively it can be left to
turn a mellow silver/grey, and should be cleaned
occasionally with soapy water.
