STREET DESIGN
ON A2 PAPER SIZE
The goal was to provide interactive streets that are NMT- friendly and also
inviting to users. The commercial street invites people into the
commercial area while the residential street provides public space for
residents and also a pleasant transit experience.
PROJECT 2:MOKE GARDENS
NEIGHBOURHOOD PARK
NEIGHBOURHOOD PARK l PLAYSCAPE l ACADEMIC l
SITE PLAN
The design challenge was to provide an active space that would be able to cater to the needs of
all age groups, genders and income levels in a housing establishment. The space designed is able
to host a large number of activities ranging from intense ones such as skate-boarding to relaxed
activities such as fishing.
PROJECT 3:TECHNOLOGY STREET
URBAN STREET DESIGN
STREET DESIGN l PUBLIC SPACE l ACADEMIC l
This is a street within our campus
and I designed it to enhance
connectivity between two parts that
were cut off from each other. The
street design also provides space for
students meant for leisure and study
while taking advantage of a large
swale that passes through the site.
PROJECT 4:WANANCHI STREET
URBAN STREET DESIGN
STREET DESIGN l PUBLIC SPACE l ACADEMIC l PUBLIC
SITE PLAN + SECTION
This was for a competition that I took part in. We
decided to pedestrianize one of the main streets
due to its high number of pedestrians. In this
design, I was thinking about what ‘rest’ means in
urban contexts and more so streets. This design
includes street furniture that allows one to rest,
shaded structures, various types of vegetation,
pathways and materials, all aimed at providing
rest, interest and solace to pedestrians as they
experience the street.
