ThehouseisasummerresidencesituatedwithinasecludednaturalareaofaGreekCycladicIsland.Thestrongtopographicalchangesofthesuroundinglandscaperepresent
atthesametimetheconceptualsourceandguidelineforthearchitecturalidea.
Thehouse-placedparaleltotheview ofthesea-isorganizedasasequenceofrooms,
rangingfrom outdoortopartialycoveredtocompletelyenclosedspaces.Thesevolumes
createcinematicframesofthesuroundinglandscape,theAegeanSeaandneighboringislands.Duetothesteeptopography,thebacksideofthehouseissubmergedwithin
thelandscape,whileitsfrontisexposedentirelytowardstheview andthepool.Alsupportfunctionsofthehouseareplacedalongthebackwalalowingmovementand
viewswithinthehouseandtowardsthelandscape.
Theuseoftexturesasastructuralandvisualframeisintendedasacontemporaryinterpretationofatraditionalstonehouse.Thisreinterpretationoftraditionalbuildingtechniquesisalsorelatedtotheintegrationofactiveandpasivetechniquesforheating,
coolingandenergygeneration.
