The best in-class partner for heavy duty snow and ice control
Everest is proud to introduce new

A best seller equipment in a new shape
Since Alamo Brazil started selling
Rhino’s design of flail mowers (FLV
series) the equipment has been proven
as a very efficient and productive
equipment for several markets in
Brazil, from small dimensions, 80 to
175 centimeters of cutting especially
designed for the coffee market, to 800
centimeters designed for the cotton
market, where Alamo
Brazil has been
gradually improving our position.
Cotton production is a very tough
environment with giant farms, tractors,
high temperatures and equipment
working 24/7. This made the adaptation
of the FLV series in Brazil. a challenging
and time consuming process. However,
we are glad to announce that the 2019
model developed by our Engineering
Team (led by Mr. Alexandre
“Pininfarina” Martini) has
been launched this year
with very good acceptance
and also better performance
in the field. Thanks to the
persistence of our Engineering
team, the new model contains a cooling
system that allows the equipment to
The FLV800 Flail Mower has sold more than 80 units so far
this year in Brazil making this equipment our top seller
run in extreme working conditions such
as the environment we face in Mato
Grosso and Bahia Regions (main cotton
production states).
Another outcome regarding the FLV800
flail mower equipment is that with more
than 80 units sold this year in Brazil, this
market became the top seller for this
equipment across the Alamo network.
With the strengthening of our
commercial position in the cotton
market (MT, BA, and MS), and the
development of new products and
performance enhancement of our
current products, we are proud of what
we have achieved so far in this market
and we strongly believe that there is
much more to come!
Coffee and Ideas…
Communication is key for success, which
is a valid statement for any company in
the world.
Looking for the enhancement of
communication between Operational,
Administrative and Leadership Teams
in our organization, Alamo Brazil has
developed a monthly program called
“Coffee and Ideas”, which started in
June.
This program resulted in very friendly
and productive chats with multifunctional
teams where it was possible
to interact with HR, the President and
managers of the company with the focus
on sharing ideas for the improvement
of safety and the work environment,
initiatives for cost savings and/or better
workflow in the operation line and
administrative processes. This program
also allows the employees to inquire
about the Brazilian business market and
what is expected from each one within
the company.
Main rules for the programs are:
• Respect: Everyone can ask or
suggest anything;
• Feedback: Honest and quick
feedback from Leadership is key for
the program success;
• Multi-functional teams: Diversity of
teams involved in the discussions
in order to see the whole picture
about the subject in discussion;
• Friendly environment: It is a
breakfast with open discussions
making it easier and friendlier for
everyone;
• OPEN DOOR—Don’t hesitate! If
you have any doubt about where
the company is going, that’s the
time to ask (confidentiality is
respected, when applicable);
4 Fall 2019 • Alamo Advisor
We have received very good suggestions
from our employees and we are
working to implement them. The feeling
that everyone is working for a better,
safer and more productive workplace

Santa Izabel Disc Harrows: Heavy and Big equipment invading Cotton fields!
One of the most common agricultural
machinery used at farms in Brazil are
the disc harrows. Although we can see
this type of equipment in any region of
the country, no one manufactures these
disc harrows as big, heavy and robust
as Santa Izabel does. The size and
performance of this equipment is really
making a difference, especially in the
cotton fields.
As part of the Santa Izabel acquisition
and growth plan, we have started a
sales territorial extension plan to the
center region of Brazil where cotton
and grains are produced on very large
farms. The disc harrows machine was
strategically important in this process
in order to establish and reinforce our
position and brand in the region.
Alamo Brazil took advantage of all
know-how that Santa Izabel already had
regarding the design and production
of such equipment and potentialized
it by developing heavy-duty disc
harrows and even bigger equipment
with disc diameters up to 42 inches
such as the GASI 500 line as well as the
development of equipment that reaches
working width of 11 meters with 108
discs like the GNASI line does. And, if
that is not enough, you can still reach
a working width of 22 meters being
covered with 216 discs using a tandem
with two GNASI equipment.
Santa Izabel disc harrows are a
successful product line whereby the
market has increasingly recognized our
brand and are linking it with quality,
strength and high performance.

RhinoAg: Assemblers, Assemble!
RhinoAg Assembly Team
10 Fall 2019 • Alamo Advisor
A day in the life of the RhinoAG
Assembly department is perhaps not so
different from a movie scene I recently
saw with my son. In “Bee Movie,”
Jerry Seinfeld’s character stands in the
middle of a busy 4-way intersection,
pondering how such a frenzy of
activity and production output seems
to progress without a hitch. “Doesn’t
everything seem too coordinated, too
perfect?” In my first few months with the
Assembly Department, it hasn’t taken
long to discover the secret: People. Not
good people, GREAT people.
Every day, I observe a team of
employees show up ready for the
day, accepting of the challenges and
opportunities ahead. I see seasoned
employees display great pride and
flexibility in their willingness to go
anywhere, build anything. They
embody a commitment to continuous
improvement, bringing forward
new ideas and even taking it upon
themselves to completely rearrange
work cells to improve ergonomics and
efficiency. They are truly experts, owning
their work and directing product flow
when necessary.
Coaching, mentoring, teaching, and
learning are perhaps the greatest
strengths at the core of Assembly. We
have welcomed several new employees
in recent months, and everyone in the
department has stepped up to the
plate to train, assist, and even perform
double duties at times. Several people
have been “leaned on” to keep key
areas moving, and all have met the
challenge with courage, commitment,
and heart.
Our new employees have been
outstanding in their work ethic, ability
to learn quickly, and willingness to
accept responsibility. One employee’s
training was particularly brief given the
build complexity of the model. When
business needs demanded the trainer
move elsewhere, the response with
fearless eyes was “I’m good, I can do
this.” Another employee was proud
to show us their first complete build,
with zero assistance, on the third day
of employment. This is a testament to
the quality and character of our trainers
who take great pride in their investment
into new employees, and the top notch
talent we continually strive to bring in
the door.
Our Assembly team is also thrilled
to welcome Dixie Chopper zero
turn mowers to Gibson City, IL! We
are excited to work with a small
team of Dixie Chopper experts who
will be joining us in launching the
new assembly process. As we get
rolling and momentum builds, we
welcome the many opportunities it
should create in relation to talent
recruiting and acquisition, career, and
potential leadership opportunities.
We know there are many months
ahead of learning, reorganization
of manufacturing footprint, and
unforeseen bumps along the way, but
the team is strong, committed, and
excited!
So, as the next challenge begins to
unfold, when things get busy, when
we are asked to re-think the wheel, as
we welcome new opportunities, I can
already hear the resounding shout from
RhinoAg Assembly: “Bring It!”

Super Products breaks ground on new building
We officially broke ground on our new
building on April 25 th . A number of
company executives and local elected
officials spoke at the event, including
our President Mike Vanden Heuvel,
Alamo Group Executive Vice President
Jeff Leonard, and Wisconsin State
Senator Steve Nass. The ceremonial
dig was performed by our Mud Dog®
Vacuum Excavator with a golden dig
tube! We also had several golden
shovels on hand for people to take their
traditional photos.
We had a very wet spring that delayed
some of our construction but luckily
the summer drought kicked in and we
have been able to make up some time.
The walls are up and painted and they
are working on installing the roof. We
are still on schedule to start moving at
the end of the year and anticipate full
production to begin in the new facility in
February 2020.
Branding Refresh
At first glance you may not notice much
but we have made some changes to our
branding. We have created a new visual
identity, made some adjustments to our
logos, and our badging on trucks. The
new visual identity has a more industrial
and grittier feel. This gives us a cleaner
look while we put a stronger emphasis
on who Super Products really is to our
market.

1,000 days without a Lost Time Accident
Congratulations to the entire Schwarze
Team but especially the manufacturing
areas as we reached 1,000 days without
a Lost Time Accident on August 13.
Creating a culture of safety starts
with each and every individual
understanding their impact to working
safely. “We have to believe all injures
are preventable and challenge ourselves
to stop and think before we act,“ states
Howard May, President. Schwarze
celebrated the success with a catered
steak luncheon and safety gift as a thank
you. Working safe is how we ROLL.

stormwater managers and public
utilities on the importance of using
street sweeping as a best management
practice for reducing sediment,

Dealer Meeting
Schwarze was proud to host over forty
dealers from around the world at their
2019 International Dealer Meeting
held in April. This was the first dealer
meeting held since David Heigl joined
the team as VP of Sales and Marketing.
The goal was to launch and educate
dealers on 10 campaigns designed to
increase business in the territories they
cover. Understanding that every territory
is different, the dealers were challenged
to identify the top five campaigns
that they felt would best benefit their
territory.
The two and a half day meeting
included presentations from product

Gradall Maintenance
Apprenticeship Program
2019, prompted the Gradall Industries
Maintenance Manager to adopt an
Apprenticeship Program in August of
2015. This program is managed by the
State of Ohio, under the auspices of the
federal government.
Currently, a total of five Maintenance
Apprentices are enrolled in the
program. Three of the five apprentices
are nearing completion of the program.
They have completed the state required
576 hours of classroom training and
related instruction at a local vocational
school. They need to complete the
remainder of the required 8,000 hours
of on-the-job training. There is one
apprentice starting his second year and
one apprentice that began his first year
on August 12 th .
The apprentices will be fully prepared
to fill openings as Electromechanical
Maintenance Technicians. For the first
time, Gradall will have a multi-task
classification with repair knowledge
in electrical, electronic, mechanical,
hydraulic, pneumatic, robotics, PLCs
and CNC machinery. Additionally, the
apprentices received training in basic
facility maintenance, plumbing, and
powered industrial lifts. They also
received safety training for electrical
arc flash, lock-out tag-out, confined
space, and a multitude of industrial
lift training. This has been a four year
journey of late nights learning in the
classroom, studying and applying
their knowledge. This is a great
accomplishment for Joshua Finton,
Brock Zurcher and Doug Fishel. Below is
information about the three soon-to-be
graduating apprentices.
Apprentice Program gruduates (L to R): Joshua Finton, Douglas Fishel, Brock Zurcher
20 Fall 2019 • Alamo Advisor
Joshua Finton is a graduate of Tri-
Valley High School. In addition, he
attended Mid-East Vocational School
in southeast Ohio, where he studied
automotive body collision and paint.
After completing school, he worked in
the oil pipeline fields in multiple states.
In 2014, Joshua accepted an entry level
maintenance position with Gradall
Industries. Shortly after being hired, he
applied for the apprenticeship program.
He believes that the program provided
him with a comprehensive level of
formal maintenance education and on
the job training.
Doug Fishel is a graduate of Dover High
School. After graduating, he attended
Buckeye Career Center where he earned
a formal and technical education in
internal combustion engines. Doug
enlisted in the United States Army,
received an Honorable Discharge and
returned to live in Dover. He started a
family and has four grown children. In
2015, he applied for and was selected
into the apprenticeship program. He
believes the program improved his
situation and skill set. Doug believes the
program provides the basics to learn
and knows the manufacturing floor is
where the application of the learning
takes place.
Brock Zurcher is a graduate of New
Philadelphia High School. He and
his wife now reside in Dover, OH.
After graduating from high school in
2005, he earned a degree in HVAC/R
from North Western University. After
some exploratory years, Brock gained
employment with Henry Heating and
Cooling Inc. until 2013, at which time
he gained employment at Gradall
Industries as a maintenance mechanic.
Brock enjoys learning in and out of the
class room. When Brock learned of
the opportunity to be part of the first
apprenticeship program, he believed
it would be mutually beneficial to have
an experienced maintenance mechanic
in the program and he could benefit
from being part of the program. Brock
believes the next year can be improved
by issues learned in this program.
He feels Gradall Industries provides
opportunity to apply or get hands on
experience with the topics learned
in the classroom. Brock believes a
novice to the trade would learn as they
progressed through the program.

Company celebrates successful Grand Opening in Hopkinton
On June 27, the crew at HP Fairfield’s
Hopkinton, New Hampshire location
opened their doors to the public. This
event was to show our customers a
close up view of the new 16-bay location
that contains a huge inventory of parts
and equipment. We shared with our
visitors that we are able to increase
turn around on jobs and provide the
best in customer service while at a new
convenient location. The abundant
parking was also a notable upgrade
from the previous facility.
The property offers excellent visibility
on Route 127 and is strategically located
immediately off Exit 6 of Interstate
89, approximately nine-minutes from
Concord and within a 17-minute drive of
Manchester.
To illustrate the increase in capacity,
the former Pembroke, New Hampshire
facility has only 9,000 sq. ft. of building
space and contains just three offices.
The new parts counter alone will
have more floor space than all of the
buildings at the former Pembroke
facility combined!
The Pembroke facility is in the final
stages of being sold.
Phil Nangle, President and Scott Colby,

On hand were representatives and

There were also several Work Ready

Just before noontime, representatives
from the Contoocook Chamber of

cutting ceremony in front of a large
audience welcoming our company to
the neighborhood. Several members
of the local press were on hand to
snap photos of this historical event and
conducted a couple of interviews before
rushing off to meet the press deadline.
Most of us have heard our company
President, Phil Nangle, say, “There is

between Pembroke and Hopkinton has
to be seen to be fully appreciated.”
