CAMBAS WINERY

On 1869 Cambas was the first wine making company in the region of Attica and

until 1991 was the most well known wine brand in Greece. Even until now, the

Cambas brand name is widely recognizable by all Greeks.

The old Listed Winery Buildings will be restored to host Leisure and Cultural

uses providing brand identity and unique character to the development.

Central Plaza

The Central plaza is equipped with a variety of programs for the welfare of the

Cambas Park users and to attract the local citizens and tourists. The flexible spaces

of the central plaza provides opportunities to host a multitude of events and activities

all round the year. The high quality public spaces and landscape of the plaza not

only adds to the spatial quality of the Cambas park, but also stimulates opportunities

for social gathering and chance encounters.

Central Plaza_Multitude of Functions

Stepped Seating and Amphitheatre

The height difference between the landscape of the exisitng winery and

the Cambas Park is moulded as an amphitheatre into the landscape.

These stepped seating looks towards the event space and the Central

Plaza making it an important landmark in the Cambas Park

Event Space

Between the Amphitheatre and the northern end of the Central Plaza

ellipse forms the event space. This becomes an ideal location to host

a variety of events like music, dance or cinemas as well as to provide

space for temporary business or cultural events for the Cambas park

users.

Eco Pavillion

The Eco pavillion is an open pavillion in the landscape for the park users

to relax or interact. This could also become a place for official meetings

or leisure events for the park users.

Urban Farm

A space is dedicated within the park to encourage urban farming. The

urban farm provides opportunity for Cambas park users and the catering

services in the park to appropriate the space for harvesting some ‘office

grown’ crops. Also, in combination with the Eco pavilion, they can host

programs for eco-educational school visits.

Waterside Seating

The waterbody all along the Cambas plaza is dotted with areas to sit and

unwind for the Park users. Additonal provisons of benches, rocks and

vegetation in the Plaza enrich the plaza experience for the Park users.

Wine Museum

The old Winery becomes a cultural hotspot that add identity to the whole

development. The historic winery and its surroundings is transformed

into a museum and the piazza formed in front also becomes a space for

cultural events,

Chapel

A small hill is landscaped adjacent to the Hotel that can host ceremonies

and wedding parties. The elevated mound on which the chapel

rests adds to the picturesque quality of the Central Plaza and also

becomes another main landmark of the Cambas Park.

Running Tracks

The Runnning track cuts across the Central Plaza forms a loop around

the office buildings. The runnning tracks unwind through the slope of

the landscape adds to the high quality fitness facilities provided at the

Cambas Park.

Waterside Restaurant

The restaurant across the flower yard becomes the main hotspot of the

southern part of the central plaza. The floating deck on the water’s edge

and expansive views of the whole plaza provide unique fine dining opportunity

for the Cambas park users and Athenians.

Yoga and Health Pavillion

This contemporary pavillion adjacent to the waterboday and overlooking

the park is the health pavillion of the Cambas park providing high quality

wellness facilities for the employees and other park users.
