MORE ABOUT THE LAND
THE LAND is a private 43 acre
property nestled in a mountain
valley near Abiquiu, in northern
New Mexico. The land sits tucked
between the famous Cerro
Pedernal mountain and Santa Fe
National Forest, and features epic
views of both mountains and
plains. It is an event space
(retreats, reunions, workshops,
etc) and a vacation rental property.
There are 5 houses, a large
finished barn, horse stables, a
greenhouse, an orchard, and a
yoga platform.
The property is also known as “La
Cienegita”, or “The Little Swamp”.
In many places this might bear a
negative connotation, but in the
high desert of New Mexico it’s a
compliment. Polvadera Creek runs
through the property, and off it an
acequia (irrigation ditch) fed by
natural springs boiling up from
mountain aquifers keeps the flora
green for most of the year. There
are fruit trees throughout the
property, as well as beautiful
native wildflowers.
Animal life on the property is
vibrant. Beavers, Black Bears,
Bullfrogs, Mountain Lions,
Hummingbirds, Coyotes...to name
a few of our neighbors and
visitors. You can fish for Brook
Trout in the creek during certain
seasons.
Moonglades has seemingly endless
potential. As new owners we have
many dreams for the property.
Some - beekeeping, hammocks
sprinkled everywhere - are well
underway; others - bocce court,
fields of lavender, glamping, being
a premier yoga/meditation/art
retreat destination - are on the
horizon.
