A career computer programmer,in the 1960s I took up photographyas a sideline after a SCUBA dive tripon a coral reef off the Florida coast.As for my learning curve inphotography, my first seriouscamera was a Nikonos underwatercamera. Without any formaltraining using a single lens reflex(SLR) camera, I went from underwaterphotography to macrophotography of insects, flowers,and mushrooms. Later I branchedout to animals and birds, with someside trips to motorcycles and cars.That’s the nice thing about photography;you can photograph almostanything you are interested in.My work has been featured in avariety of publications to includeTexas Parks & Wildlife, TexasHighways, Texas Iron, andEasyrider Magazine, and mostrecently, on the cover of theChihuahuan Desert ResearchInstitute newsletter.46
