Lanterna - VirVillaislandOnce a historical lighthouse, today a residential Villa, Lanterns wasbuilt in 1881 on the southwest part of the island of Vir in the timesof the Habsburg monarchy which started building lighthouses alongthe eastern Adriatic coast in the beginning of the 19th century. It iscategorized as a 5* luxury house and it fits a maximum of 8 people.Both the exterior and interior were rebuilt in 2012 in a traditionalyet modern design. In the backyard behind a stone wall there is awellness area with sauna, whirlpool, fitness equipment and asunbathing spot in the garden filled with Mediterranean herbs.Behind it is an outside grill and in front of it there is a private beachwith sunbeds. The building is made of stone, settled in the peacefulpart of the island with the coast and walkway next to theturquoise sea. Behind it there is a pine and oak forrest.Only 15 meters from the villa there is a beautiful sandy beachperfect for children and playing. In the evenings the smell ofsalt and pines give an extraordinary feeling of being there andenjoyment in the sounds of the waves.
