Parsley of Sheridan,
Indiana is currently
a freshman at the
University of
Kentucky, majoring
in Animal Science.
Katherine grew up
on her family's
diversified farm
which includes
Suffolk sheep, cattle
and crops.Suffolk
sheep have been in
her family since
1948 - Katherine continues to keep up that
family tradition and has exhibited sheep at the
county, state, and national levels. She currently
attends the University of Kentucky and
majors in Animal Science with the future goal of
attending vet school for large animal medicine.
Katherine is an active member of Block and
Bridle and serves as the Treasurer for the UK
College of Agriculture Student Council.
Additionally, she is a student employee for the
University of Kentucky C. Oran Little Sheep
Research Unit. Katherine is currently serving
as an intern director for the United Junior
Suffolk Sheep Association Board of Directors.

Wisconsin-Platteville, majoring in Animal
Science with an emphasis in Agribusiness.
Suffolks have been apart of Andrew's life ever
since he can remember and has attended
every National Junior Suffolk Show since 2010.
Andrew has been on the United Junior Suffolk
Sheep Association Board of Directors for 7
years and has held the offices of President and
Vice-President. Upon graduation Andrew's
career goals include getting into Genetics and
is hopefully with sheep if that path comes
along.

Scholarship
The United Suffolk Sheep Association is
offering one $1,000 Scholarships for graduating
high school seniors or students enrolled at
a college, university, or trade school. Any
United Junior Suffolk Sheep Association member
who owns registered Suffolk sheep and
whom is either a senior in high school or currently
enrolled in a college, university, or trade
school is eligible. We encourage all eligible
young breeders to join the competition. Funds
will be paid directly to the winner’s college,
university, or trade school and may be used for
academic pursuits only. To qualify an entrant
must:
1. Complete an application form, either
word processed or typed, but not handwritten,
which is available from the USSA Office or
USSA website.
2. Submit two letters of recommendation
from teachers/professors, counselors or community
leaders.
3. Provide a current transcript of scholastic
credits.
Finalists will be selected from the applications
received. Finalists will have a phone interview
with the Scholarship Committee the end of
June. The scholarship winners will be announced
during the National Junior Suffolk Show at
the All-American Junior Show.
Prior recipients are eligible to apply, but
preference will be given to those that have not
previously received the scholarship.
Applications must be received by the office
no later than June 1. Winners will be selected
entirely based on merit.
