even the darkness will not be dark to you;

for darkness is as light to you.
The Psalmist reminds us that there is nowhere we can go and nowhere we can find ourselves that God is not
present. Or, as Carl Jung once put it, “Bidden or unbidden, God is present.” Whether we are aware of God or we
are not, whether we are seeking God or we are not, whether we feel God with us or we do not, God is there.
