SHELTON STATE PREPARES

YOU FOR CONTINUING YOUR

COLLEGE EDUCATION.

As a high school senior with an

undecided major in mind, I toured

Shelton State upon recommendations

from friends and fell in love with

the campus, and it seemed like a

perfect fit for me. I received multiple

scholarships to assist financially

without going into student debt. I

decided upon nursing as a major

after my experience in anatomy. My

advisors and mentors were helpful

in my success at Shelton State. Every

single person I met at Shelton State

was there to see me through and

succeed. I am a proud graduate

from Shelton State with an Associate

Degree in Nursing and transferring

to the University of Alabama at

Birmingham, pursing a BSN.

Student athletes describe their Shelton State experience

as a place that feels like family in which team spirit in and out of

FOR TIM LEWIS, SHELTON STATE WAS THE STARTING LINE FOR

a lifetime of achievement in athletics and in his career. Part of a

conference-winning Buccaneer basketball team as a student,

he now helps coach the team. “A Buccaneer for life,” he says.

But that’s not all. After finishing at Shelton State, Tim went on

excelling in his career in healthcare administration.
