Kyambogo University student Sheila Kirabo,on

the night that ushered in 2016 made History

Tourism Metropolitan title at the internationally

recognized Miss Tourism Queen of year

pageant in Malaysia. Bold Traveller magazine

engaged her in a quick question and answer

session and here is what she had to say .

Qtn: Before picking up registration forms for miss Tourism

Auditions, did you have someone tell you ''hey sheila, you're beautiful

and smart and can win this ''?

Yes I had. Muzira Joram of Joram Job Muzira management inspired me and he always

kept on saying you got it and Sheila is the girl to beat!.That was during

the training towards regionally completions of which I emerged winner

for Ankole Region.

Qtn: How did your world change after you became a miss Tourism

Uganda tile holder?

My world didn't change though it gave me a big platform as an

individual and at most I got more knowledge about the unique

beauties of my country.

Qtn:

Miss Joyful KLIA, Face of the largest airport in Malaysia and second

runner up - Miss Tourism Queen of the year, making Uganda 2nd out of

56 countries worldwide. What does this make you?

It makes feel so humbled, happy and above all, it boosts my esteem and

I intend to and Iam already working together with tourism sectors to

educate people and promote the uniqueness of our country through

media and show casing our natural attractions such as the National

parks, water bodies, mountains and family picinic and holiday

destinations.

Lake Victoria's Paradise evening cruise to Equator

islands, a sure thing to impress.


Departing from Anderita beach line, we hired a

greeted by tranquility , seeing Entebbe like never

before. As minutes roll by ,at leisure pace, I was

mesmerized by the lakeside, especially the

continuity of white sand at the beaches around

Lido beach, Spenah beach and Protea Hotel.

Whether you are out on a sightseeing experience

or on a romantic sail, the sunset cruise will be

sure to impress!

The cruise passes by the historical sites from

which Entebbe gets its name. The place is

Entebbe za Mugula, loosely translated as Seats

for Mugula. Mugula was a Buganda chief and he

used to sit and conduct his court from here. In

this place, there are rocky features carved like

seats that overlook lake Victoria near where the

airport is situated today. This is where he would

sit during judicial proceedings and village

meetings.

That aside, the cruise also takes you passed small

rock islands, including one where women are not

superstition.

In about 50 minutes, we had reached the equator

its way into the lake on the horizon, like a red-hot

big ball falling into the water. It is a moment that

every visitor wants to capture on camera while

posing on the equator monument recently

erected by Entebbe Municipal Council. A lot still

needs to be done to turn around this place into a

serious tourism site for tourists to stay longer.

For the short time we were there, we managed to

were monitor lizards and others swimming in the

water.

On the way back, with the sun having fully set, we

experienced Entebbe lights on this nighttime sail.

Cruising quietly by the bright and beautiful

Entebbe skyline, you will take in the breathtaking

views that can be seen this way from water on a

quiet and peaceful excursion.

Once again , the Boat docks at Anderita beach

line. These trips into the lakes and neighboring

islands are readily arranged at $15 each

foreigners.

Kidepo Valley National Park;

This Valley is lost in the extream north east

near the boarder with South Sudan. Kidepo

Valley is known for harbouring a number of

animals found nowhere else in Uganda and

these include;Cheetahs,bat-eared foxes,aa

rdwolves,caracal,greater and lesser kudus.

There are also large concetrations of elephan

ts,zebras,buffaloes,bushbucks,giraffes,lions

,jackals,leopards,hyenas,crockdiles and 5oo

bird species.Amazingly most of the animals

in this park are free to graze and lounge just near the park’s accomodation and you can

a whole lot with out going very far.

Located in the South west of Uganda near Kabale, Bwindi impenetrable forest

park is home to half the world’s surviving mountain gorillas and is one of Africa’s

most ancient habitats since it thrived right through the last ice age(12,000

to18000 years ago). It has over 120 species of mammal,though sightings are

JUBA


In the 19 the cencury, a trading post and a mission was located in the vicinity of Juba at a

place called Gondokoro. Gondokoro was also the base to British explorer,Sir Samuel Baker

World’s Top10 Airlines 2015

world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to

decide the award winners," Skytrax says.

This year's top airline: Doha-based Qatar Airways. It's the

top award category.

1. Qatar Airways

Skytrax says: Qatar Airways also achieved success in the

4. Turkish Airlines

Skytrax says: Turkish Airlines also achieved considerable

success in the Business Class cabin winning the top

awards for World's Best Business Class Lounge and Best

Istanbul is amongst the largest in the world - capable of

accommodating 1000 customers and hosts several live

cooking stations serving the best of local and International

dishes, design by catering company Do&Co.

5. Emirates

Skytrax says: Emirates retained their stranglehold on the

Skytrax World Airline Awards in Paris. Finishing ahead of

Qatar Airways in second place and Singapore Airlines in

third, EK continues to have the edge over its closest global

competitors despite continued hardware and programming

improvements by carriers across the industry.

Emirates secured the award for Best First Class -Comfort

Amenities ahead of local rival Etihad Airways and

Singapore Airlines. At the top-end of the industry this is a

very competitive category - particularly when assessing

the quality levels between the top-5 airlines.

6. Etihad Airways

Skytrax says: With a vast array of new product and service

concepts introduced in the last 6-months it is perhaps no

success at the front end of the aircraft. Customers are

clearly impressed by the WOW factor of the latest Etihad

First Class innovations, which sit alongside an already

competitive range of cabin products.

7. ANA All Nippon Airways

Skytrax says: The carrier was named as having the World's

Best Airport Services which recognises frontline airport

strongly in second and third position in the Airport

Services category.

8. Garuda Indonesia

consecutive year at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in

the award and is further recognition of the remarkable

turnaround for the airline. Previous winner Asiana Airlines

secured second position, with the 2015 Best Airline in Asia

Singapore Airlines achieving third.

9. EVA Air

Skytrax says: EVA Air were announced as the world's

cleanest airline at the 2015 Skytrax World Airline Awards

with the prize for World's Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness -

this was ahead of Singapore Airlines in second position

and previous winner ANA All Nippon Airways in third.

Customers also voted EVA into the top-10 globally ranked

10. Qantas Airways

Skytrax says: Australia's Qantas Airways had a successful

year at the 2015 Skytrax World Airline Awards winning the
