Outdoor enthusiast, photographer and coffee
lover. “French by birth, but swiss in my heart.”-
says Lisa.
She’s been living for 19 years in Switzerland
and she is in love with this country because of
its nature, mountains, lakes, but also in love
with their cheese, chocolate, beer and cows.
“It’s a little paradise for those who have
passion for nature and outdoor activities.“
Her Instagram account counts around 3000
posts and 84.6k followers.
Her passion are hiking and photography, both
well combined.
We’ve made a small talk with this enthusiastic
hiker-lady about her outdoor adventure life.

Why hiking? How did you
find it inspiring?
First, because I love to
spend my days in this
beautiful outdoor, so on
walking you can see so
many more beauties instead
of taking public transport.
Also, hiking allows you to
relax, to keep your mind free
for a while, you forget all
the worries and you just feel
happy and alive (I wished
everybody could feel like
this, even it’s for only a few
hours every day). We all
have ups and downs in our
life, whether stress or
dissatisfaction at work,
worries with family, partner,
or friends... that’s why it’s
essential to find a balance,
and for me, hiking brings
me this.
The most favorite female
hiker? Why her?
One of the most famous and
also my favorite female
hiker is Sarah Marquis (a
swiss adventurer, explorer,
writer). This woman is
incredible, I love her! I would
like to have her courage, her
intelligence, her beauty, her
wisdom. She is so authentic!
With her books, her stories,
she manages to convey to
you this love and respect
that we all should have for
mother nature and inspires
us to go on an adventure.
With who do you hike the
most? What your partners
were like?
Most of the time I hike with
my boyfriend (by the way,
we’ve met for a hike and fell
in love). We both love nature
and hiking. He is the
specialist for grill & picnic
and I am the specialist to
photography it. We
complement each other.
He is also very patient and
needs patience with me as I
often stop taking photos.
How to overcome a fear of
bears?
I do not have fears as I hike
with a bear. The nickname
of my boyfriend it’s ”cuddle
bear”. But seriously, I don’t
know how to overcome this
fear. Fortunately, I have
never encountered a bear,
but if one day it should
happen I think I would be
paralyzed with fear. For
those who are afraid to hike
because of wild animals, I
may advise hiking in very
touristic places (the more
there will be people, the
fewer there will be animals).
How ladies go to bathroom
when hiking?
When you walk, you have an
urgent need and there is no
toilet in the area, well you
have no choice! You will have
to hide behind a tree (or a
big rock if you find one). And
maybe tell your companion
to stand guard. :)
How do you prepare for a
multi-day, high altitude
hike?
If we hike for several days at
altitude, we take of course
our tent, our sleeping bags,
thermal underwear, a good
down jacket (because it is
very cold at night at altitude
even in summer), a small
camping stove (because the
coffee it’s important in the
morning), maybe studs for
the hiking shoes, the hiking
sticks, and of course food
and enough water.
Local hiking spots?
Oh! There are a lot in the
Jungfrau Region. One of
my favorite was the Unesco
Trail who starts at the end of
the Lauterbrunnen valley at
Stechelberg and goes until
the Oberhornsee (Beautiful
Mountain lake in a heart
shape).
Group hiking or alone?
I like both! I like to walk
alone to free my mind, and
also I like to walk with
others to share this
beautiful nature that
surround us. By the way one
of my favorite quote is:
”happiness is only real when
shared.” by Christopher
McCandless
Should women hike alone?
A woman should not, but
can hike alone if she feels
like it. But if you refer to
safety, the woman is as
capable of hiking alone as
the man.
What is your most
adventurous experience
while hiking?
Once during a hike, I found
myself in the middle of a
herd of Capricorn. These
animals are so majestic.
I was alone with them, I
stayed for 1 hour to observe
them. (I was very lucky that
at that time there were no
other hikers).
What are your favorite
pants for hiking?
I love NF hiking pants.
Your experience with NF
pants?
The NF pants are very
comfortable to wear, used
great fabric material!
What makes different NF
pants frolm the others?
The cool style they have,
their colors make them
different from all the other
pants. The ventilation on
them is a great idea, as all
those big pockets.
Which season is the best
for hiking and why?
My favorite seasons for
hiking are spring and
autumn, the temperature is
ideal, not too cold and not
too hot, and then above all
because of the colors, those
of the flowers and those of
the leaves. I love the mists
of autumn, especially when
you emerge from it and you
find yourself above a sea of
fog.
What is your Dream Hike?
My dream is to hike in the
dolomites and to do the
”5 lake path” in Zermatt,
and I will do it once! for the
moment I was only once in
Zermatt of course in hope to
see the beautiful Matterhorn
mountain, but unfortunately
on this weekend the
weather was very bad, so I
will have to go there again.
What is your next
adventure?
I don’t know for now, but it’s
sure to be in the mountains.
We very rarely plan our
hikes, we prefer to choose a
place at random and let our
instinct guide us.

humans have a negative impact on the environment or
not. Especially the textile business has a big and
negative impact on the environment.
It’s a contradiction that the outdoor business which
is based on people enjoying great nature and wildlife,
has one of the biggest impacts on the environment.
We want to change this negative impact. We want to
be a part of the solution so that many generations to
come can enjoy the wildlife and great nature that
exists around the world.
NorthernFrontier has taken steps to improve the
production and the use of environmentally friendly
materials. In our models Zugspitze, Amundsen
Exclusive and Teide we have changed the reinforced
fabric with pure cotton fabric. 50% of the fabric is
now organic. The fabric has the same strength as
before but is a lot more environmentally friendly
compared to earlier.
This is just the beginning. We will improve a lot in the
years to come. And by supporting us you are making
sure that we can develop and introduce more and
better environmentally friendly clothing for outdoor
use. We will never introduce environmentally hostile
materials such as fleece to our collection.
