Iroquois Park was planned by Frederick Law Olmsted as a
“scenic reservation” of forested hillsides and breathtaking
vistas, taking advantage of its status as the highest point
in miles. The park features the Iroquois Amphitheater, an
open-air arena originally built by the Works Progress Administration
in the 1930s and restored by Louisville Parks
and Recreation and reopened in 2004.
