The park is comprised of the former River Road Country Club and Louisville Soccer Park, and 21 acres of reclaimed landfill. Altogether Carrie Gaulbert Cox, Caperton Swamp, Eva Bandman, Twin and Louisville Champions parks comprise a 400-acre recreation corridor. The Korean War Memorial, bridle trails and hiking trails are also in the park. The centerpiece of the site is the restored 1837 Farnsley-Moremen house. In the 19th century, travelers stopped here to trade, take on fuel and rest. Visitors today may tour the house and its historic grounds, or rent the Visitors Center’s meeting space, chapel or pavilion. The name of the house acknowledges all those who called it home during the 1800s: builder Gabriel Farnsley, and Israel and Nannie Moremen and their family.
