Positive Vibes: Bright Future
Introduction
This portfolio will show the concept for the Met Ball 2021. This years Met Ball
is about looking back to past, focusing on the positive side. There are many
positive things that happened because of the pandemic. Unfortunately, people
were showing mainly the negative things and with this concept it will prove
them wrong. Therefore, the title: positive Vibes: Bright Future.
I created four 2D boards that demonstrate the concept of the Met Ball. The
boards will show the main ideas of the artwork in the exhibition, dress code,
interior and the food that will be served at dinner. As for the 3D object I made
a dreamcatcher, with idea to bring back the original idea behind the Met Ball,
a fundraising event. The company is called "Project is Love" They create
bracelets with a group of women in Kenya. The money go s to artisans females
around the world.

Concept Board 1. Artwork
This board showcases the artwork that will be exhibit. Many artists have
work inspired by the words written on the board: illnesses, bacteria and
viruses.

Concept Board 2. Interior
This board demonstrate the wall colours in the exhibition, the theme is
colourful therefore the colours. In addition, it shows the dinner
decorations with lila as the main colour.

Concept Board 3. Food
This board shows the food that will be served during dinner. The dinner
has a 4-course menu with vegan and vegetarian options as that can not
be forgotten.

Concept Board 4. Dresscode
This board illustrates the colours, patterns and textures that the
guests must where. They may not wear depressed colours. Dresses
and suits are only allowed.

Dreamcatcher
For the 3D outcome I made a dreamcatcher that would bring back the
original idea of the Met Ball, a fundraising event. The dream catcher is a
special edition, to let all their dreams come true.

Artist Statement
The work that I create are communicative that are mainly based on fashion or
an interesting topic. In addition, I do concept building for companies in the
fashion world. I get inspired by the world itself, everything that is happening
at the moment I communicate in a creative approach. The work contains
strong concepts and learning processes.
My work always begins with a mind map, it helps to brainstorm when I think
about the topic. Most of the work starts digitally for the research that I do for
every project. Then I start writing everything down to generate my ideas.
When I finished this I start creating the project using photography, digital
programs such as Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft
programs. I combine these elements to develop and produce my work.
The people that see my work learn from it. Every project I aim for a target and
adjust that to the project because generation X is not the same as generation
Z. I choose topics, for my own project, that interests me because I can only
work on something if I think it is interesting. In the process I make it
interesting for the target as well.
