LOCKDOWN
BLUES
A quick shoot with the Holeshot
Husqvarna riders, Zander Goosen and
Heinrich Aust.
It was a chilly lockdown morning when
the family and I were using the allotted
time to partake in our morning exercise.
Roughly 3 KM’s from our offices, there is
a lekker rocky hill where we take off on
the bikes to do a few laps. As we arrived,
we were greeted by two Husqvarnas
charging down the hill. We stopped them
to say hello! Turns out that Heinrich Aust
and Zander Goosen live nearby and they
had the same idea that we do…
“Huzzit Boys!” and then comes the
clincher – “Hello Uncle Glenn!”
Uncle Glenn?
Damn! Time to shave off that hairy
lockdown stuff on my face.
As motorcyclists do, we got to
chatting about the state of the nation,
racing plans for the year, sponsorship
agreements and the impact of COVID
and all sorts. And we only had about an
hour and a bit left of our allotted time,
so we looked for the gnarliest trails we
could find.
Heinrich has become a bit of a
household name – he exploded onto
the scene with his mad skills on the
MX track, decided to diversify with a
short Sojourn racing off-road – and then,
under the wing of Husqvara SA man Taki
