Synopsis
One in the same, is a supernatural psychological horror set in a post-apocalyptic world now in ruins after strange creatures emerged. Humanity
now lives in small settlements spread across the urban wasteland. The story revolves around Chris a “ Retriever,” someone who will leave the
settlement to gather resources and other valuable items, for the “ Elysium Settlement,” being haunted by the same dream for the past 5 years,
he's young and playing with a girl unable to see her face or the surroundings before something happens, to help try and remember, Chris
collects postcards from the world before. One day a strange man arrives with a job offer to retrieve some documents on a Subject 027 after first
refusing, Chris accepts after the man hints about a way to end all creatures and answers to his strange dreams. Travelling to the "Telma
Settlement" it quickly comes clear that something strange is happening and upon entering the “ Buckland estate ” Chris will undercover the
dark truth about the estate, Subject-027, the strange creatures, the cause of the apocalypse and how he is connected to it all, while being
tormented by 027 and her creatures. Chris is eventually able to kill 027, his sister Amanda causing her creatures to disappear though now
knowing about the experiments and his past Chris returns to Elysium to confront the mysterious man.
Aims
I want this TV show to be targeted to teens around the ages of 12 and adults as I believe this is the audience that will be most interested in
horror and since the focus is more on psychological horror I think 12 is a reasonable aim due to it being difficult to rate psychological horror.
The episodes will be structured by having Chris exploring a section of the Estate finding clues and working his way down to the basement and
discovering the asylum/ scientific structure where after discovering the truth, Chris will have to make a decision with the results of that choice
being shown in the final episode. Each episode Chris will be tormented by Subject-027 A.K.A Amanda and a certain monster (1 of 4 currently)
which will appear will be based on what the discovery is for that episode but the designs will be related to how Amanda saw each monster when
they were human. While the genre is psychological horror with some violence, I do want the story to have elements of a tragedy with Amanda's
back story as the viewer learns more about her as the series goes on, this will blend with the viewer learning more about Chris and the
Experiments that took place. Each episode will be 23 minutes long with 13 episodes with a thorough story arc. I find that nowadays a postapocalyptic
setting especially for horror is hard to find in the TV show area which is why I think this show might have a chance at standing out
from others in the genre.

Character Bios

One in the Same - Chris
The main protagonist of the story. Chris is a retriever for
the Elysium settlement often leaving the settlement to
gather food and water but sometimes other items of
interest for a price. Unable to remember anything before
the apocalypse and being haunted by a strange dream he
has every night, Chris collects postcards in hopes to regain
his memory.
Age: 21

One in the Same - Amanda
The main antagonist of the story, Amanda was the cause of the apocalypse, she stays
within the facility under the Buckland estate unable to leave. Amanda wants to get
revenge on the people involved with the project with a strong hatred towards
Professor Griffin. While Amanda is 18, due to her being fully combined with the
parasite within her, her growth has been slowed down which is why her appearance
makes her look like around 12. While Amanda created the monsters terrorising the
world, she doesn't control them. Though Amanda is able to communicate with the
parasite within her as well as having some psychic powers.

When Amanda was human, she would often try to
stay positive during all the experiments it wouldn't
matter if the pain was physical or emotional but
that was only when she was with her brother and
the other kids. Once she started to show promising
results with supernatural abilities such as
telekinesis. Amanda was isolated from the group
and was put through more strenuous testing.

One in the Same - Fenrir
Fenrir was created by Amanda and is a representation of the dog
that she had during the project and was killed by Carter during an
experiment causing her emotional trauma as it was the only friend
she had when isolated from the other subjects. Fenrir acts like a
dog around Amanda and is the only creature that Amanda has any
control over. Unlike Amanda, Fenrir can leave the facility and is
the only way she has of knowing what is happening on the outside
and finding those involved with the experiment.

One in the Same - Ariel
Another creation by Amanda, Ariel walks the halls of the facility singing, luring anyone
who might enter the facility or estate. When human Ariel was considered a mother
figure to Amanda taking care of her and the other children after the experiments, often
singing or reading stories to them (mostly fairy tales) Ariel never did any experiments
on the children as she would often be recording the results.

One in the Same - Richard
Another creation by Amanda, Richard was a surgeon for the
experiments and was the one who injected the parasite into
the subjects as well as being the one to take samples to
analyse. Richard was a very quiet person though was often
seen with a fake unnatural smile across his face doing
whatever he was ordered to do. Richard was manipulative
and cunning, knowing how to use people for his own benefit.

Form
One in the Same - Carter
Carter was the biggest and strictest member of the group, often being the one in
charge of the physical side of the experiment. Though once Amanda was moved
to more strenuous testing Carter would be the one physically abusing Amanda
with his favourite method often being shock therapy all while having a sadistic
smile. Carter was also the one who killed Amanda's dog after it scratched his face
scarring him and causing loss in eyesight. While as a monster Carter is blind and
solely relies on hearing, the scars of his face run throughout his body and have
an electrical current travelling down it, allowing him to shock his victims if
caught.

One in the Same - Griffin
A stranger that arrives at the Elysium settlement to offer Chris the job to find
subject-027 and finish his experiment. Though before the apocalypse the stranger
was known as Professor Griffin and head of the project under the Buckland
Estate. Griffin was as a cold, manipulative, and calculating man being the one to
organise the test and had taken a interest with Amanda due to her performance
during these test.

The estate hidden deep within the woods close to the Telma Settlement that was used as a front to hide
the dark secrets hidden within.

Episode Synopsis
Episode 1
Chris awakens after having another one of his dreams and makes his way across the settlement, the head of the “
Retrievers, Isaac ” has just returned from a trade of with another settlement. He gives Chris some of the post cards that he
was able to find during the mission asking if he can remember anything. A stranger arrives and offers a Job specifically for
Chris, who at first refuses due to the dangers of the area, but after the stranger suggest he’ll find answers and a way to
stop the monsters but that he must go alone, Chris accepts but against the stranger's warning, Isaac sends two other men
to go with him and they begin to make their way to Telma Settlement though they begin to get the feeling they’re being
watched. The citizens run when seeing Chris, they find someone who points them to Buckland Estate they hesitate at first
but decide to enter.
Episode 2
Chris, Trevor and Jay make their way into the manor and are surprised by how well kept it is. They begin to explore the
mansion looking for the documents on subject-027. Chris enters a room that looks like an office and begins to search for
the documents though is unable to find them. When they’re about to give up, they hear singing and try to figure out where
it's coming from. Chris eventually finds the secret entrance to an underground facility and continues to follow the song.
Noticing dried blood as they reach the bottom, Chris desperate for answers decides to push forward the others deciding to
stay with him. While exploring the group begin to see flashes of a little girl standing at the ends of hallways before
disappearing, Chris follows her. The singing stops, after a few moments of silence a scream is heard.

Episode 3
Chris makes his way towards the source of the scream with another scream heard on the way there. Chris sees Trevor
bleeding, a voice warns Chris to be quiet and hide, through the door on the other side of the room Ariel stands over a dead
Jay. Trevor lifts his gun and fires multiple times at Ariel, she walks over to him and kills him then begins to sing again
leaving the room. Chris once safe takes the tags from his dead group members and heads out, avoiding the song. Finding
himself in a living quarter like area and begins looking around and soon begins to hear voices seeing ghostly visions of
children running around laughing. Amanda appears to Chris along with Fenrir noticing the 027 on her clothes Chris asks
about it but Amanda only replies with “ I know you.”
Episode 5
Chris hides from Ariel in a locker in the surgery room who walks around the room singing approaching the locker but
quickly leaves after a loud bang is heard. Once the singing is gone Chris exits the locker and begins to search the room and
find reports written by a Professor Richard. Amanda appears causing Chris to have more ghostly visions of Richard talking
calmly towards a scared child tied to the chair. Chris frustrated asks her why though she’s disappeared. Richard in a friendly
voice calls out asking if someone is there and Chris finds a radio and replies, Chris demands answers, Richard agrees to
answer Chris’s questions but first he has to retrieve some samples. Chris make his way towards storage, though begins to
catch glimpses of a snake like creature following him. When he reaches storage, Chris discovers a room of mutilated bodies.
Richard knocks him out.

Episode 7
Chris having just escaped from Richard and now knowing about the parasite and experiments, Chris decides to
head back to the cells to search 027's room. Though when he reaches the cells Ariel is sat in the living area singing.
Amanda appears again, granting Chris more ghostly visions of children sat around Ariel. Chris sneaks past and
heads to the cells, visions still effecting him he enters 026's and 027's cell. He watches as the two children comfort
each other and learns that Amanda is his sister and gains the memory of Amanda being dragged away from the cell
and being taken to the lower level. Chris is about to leave the room until loud tapping is heard. Taking the risk
Chris rushes to the opposite cell to hide, the vent shoots off and Richard enters 027's cell calling out in a friendly
tone to Chris, inching closer.
Episode 9
With Richard dead Chris heads down further into the facility looking for subject-027's room, though the power's
out. Moving quietly with his torch on, Chris follows the directions on a torn-up map found on the higher level in
hopes of returning power. Making his way there Chris begins to hear something coming towards him and hides
waiting for the thing to pass. Though when getting out he causes a noise, alerting the monster letting out a loud
roar rushing towards Chris, who leaps out the way the wall crumbles and sparks emit from the creature (Carter.)
Chris avoids Carter though still stuck in darkness he continues to make his way down only to begin to hear singing
again and soon loud stomps are heard, the singing stops. Chris is able to avoid Ariel and Carter and eventually
restores power to the level.

Episode 11
With Ariel now dead Chris makes his way to Griffin's Office, all while avoiding Fenrir who stalks all the hallways
along with an enraged Amanda, barely avoiding them Chris tries to enter the office but discovers it locked and
quickly comes up with a plan. Chris heads to the last location he was chased by Carter and once found begins to
guide him avoiding his charges and break down the door. Then sending Carter of towards Fenrir in hopes it will
distract it. Chris heads into the office and finds the experiment recordings for Amanda and himself and returns to
the security room to watch them, seeing the variety of test performed on Amanda along with some other children
including Chris before its only Amanda.
Episode 13
Now fully aware of his past, his untapped psychic powers and a clear understanding of Amanda's goals, Chris
makes the decision to stop his sister. Chris is eventually able to kill Amanda and the two exchange final words with
Chris apologising before leaving and returning to Elysium to confront the stranger. The stranger confirms Chris's
findings and gives more of an overview about the facility and the higher ups of the project before Chris pulls his
gun out, the parasite is visible on his neck and presumably kills Griffin.

INT. CHRIS'S ROOM. MORNING (DREAM SEQUENCE)
Script Sample
CHRIS stands in a large empty landscape the only part of his environment that is visible is
that he stands on. In front of him in the distance stands a young girl who turns around her
facial features not visible.
AMANDA:
Come on Chris (Laughter) try and catch me (Laughter)
The girl begins to run away, CHRIS unwillingly starts to run chasing after her. Though he
soon loses sight of the girl the white that surrounds Chris gradually begins to darken.
AMANDA:
(Screams) Chris help me!
CHRIS'S run unwillingly turns to a sprint as he runs flashes of locations too blurry for
him to make out as Amanda speaks over each image.
AMANDA:
You said we would protect each other... You said you'd be there for me... You said we'd be
safe...
After the final flash he is able to see the girl with two shadow like creatures before
Chris can move any closer a large snake like creature rises up in front opening its jaw and
goes to eat Chris. His vision turns black.
AMANDA:
You failed us!
INT. CHRIS'S ROOM. MORNING
CHRIS wakes and sits up on his sofa in a cold sweat and with heavy breathing he looks
quickly around his room before taking a moment to collect himself. He then stands up
putting on his jacket and boots before taking a look at the wall above his desk filled with
post cards. He takes one off the wall and stares at it for a while.

CHRIS sighs frustrated that he is unable to remember anything.
He places the post card back on his desk and grabs his bag from underneath his desk along
with his gun and torch and makes his way out of his room.
EXT. ELYSIUM SETTLEMENT. MORNING
Exiting his room CHRIS looks over the walkway to see the main gate opening as the
citizens of ELYSIUM make their way to the gate, leaving a clear path down the middle.
ISAAC and other Retrievers, all riding horses, come through the gate two of the
Retrievers are dragging a small cart of crates, filled with water and food. Two of the
men get of their horses and begin to pass out the food and water to the surrounding
citizens while ISAAC gets off his horse and begins to walk to the RETRIEVER OFFICE.
CHRIS begins to make his move, but he notices that in the crowd a strange hooded man
is looking up towards him, thinking nothing of it, CHRIS begins to make his way down
the ramp making his way to the RETRIEVER OFFICE.
INT. RETRIEVER OFFICE MORNING
ISAAC sits at his desk and begins to write. Not long after CHRIS enters the room.
CHRIS:
Take it the trade went well then?
ISAAC:
We've got about a weeks worth of food and water, though they seem to be willing to set
up a trade system with us.
ISAAC pulls out two post cards out of his coat and hands them out to CHRIS
ISAAC:
By the way, I was able to find these on our way there.
CHRIS grabs the post cards before sitting down opposite ISAAC and begins to examine
them.
