P Y P V - H E X H I B I T I O N 2 0 1 9 - 2 0 2 0Visit to KAWS- Animal ShelterHomeFinally, we visited KAWS- KarachiAnimal Welfare Society, AnimalShelter Home and Vet Hospital to findout and observe the facilities and caregiven to the locally rescued animalswithin the shelter , which includedKites, Hamsters, dogs, cats and otherbirds. We witnessed the OPD ofanimals brought for vaccination.We have became CARING as we thinkmore about animals now and try to be kindand helpful to them.Different books related to the inquiryfrom the school library and e-booksfrom epic.com were referred duringresearch, various sites, andnewspapers were explored too duringthe learning journey to jot the findings.Involving CommunityThe exhibition takes placewhen all the stake holdersjoin their hands together.During the researchprocess and inquiry, wetried to involve as manycommunity members aswe could, keeping limitedresources in mind.A session with the parents in the beginning was held to introducethe learning process of Exhibition and to have discussion on howparents can help their children in this important stage of PYP.

A few mammals sadly have beenreported to vanish from the wildlife’s habitat,which includes tigers, deer, blackbucks, lionsand Indian horned rhinoceros in our country.On the other hand, animals including AsiaticCheetah, Indian Wild Ass, Hangul, Siberiancrane, long-billed vultures and hawksbillturtles are vulnerable to extinction andseveral animals are already endangeredincluding Kashmir grey Langurs, Indusdolphins, finback whales, Balochistan beers,green turtles, musks and hog deer.Moreover, we concluded that the animalswhich are endangered or have becomeextinct, whether in Pakistan or outsidePakistan are mainly due to man-made causesas mentioned above.Hence, flourishing life onland is the foundation for ourlife on planet. Every living thingis created for a reason whetherits humans or animals.
