Thepain-filled groans of the elderly echo downthe hallways made it feel like an infirmaryduring a war.My grandpa lay in the hospital bedpreparing to end a long battle he has foughtfor the past two years. The hiss of hisoxygen tank, like bombs whistling, made mefeel I was on the losing side with him. Thesmell of disinfectant, urine and cleaningproducts made me feel dizzy to the pointwhere everything went blurry.Like trying to look through the fog ofwar where surrender seems the only option.
