30Fitzrovia Youth in ActionAnnual Report and Accounts 2018-2019A risk register covering key strategic risks will be maintained and updated at least twice a yearand more frequently where risks are known to be volatile.All staff will be provided with adequate training on risk management and their role andresponsibilities in implementing this.The charity will regularly review and monitor the effectiveness of its risk management frameworkand update it as considered appropriate.Reports will be made to the trustees twice a year highlighting any continuing and emerging highconcern risks and those where priority action is needed to effect better controlTrustee responsibilities in relation to financial statementsThe charity trustees (who are also the directors of Fitzrovia Youth in Action for the purposes ofcompany law) are responsible for preparing a trustees’ annual report and financial statements inaccordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards.Company law requires the charity trustees to prepare financial statements for each year whichgive a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and the group and ofthe incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure,of the charitable group for that period. In preparing the financial statements, the trustees arerequired to:• select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;• observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;• make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;• state whether applicable UK accounting standards have been followed, subject to anymaterial departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;• Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate topresume that the charity will continue in business.The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonableaccuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that thefinancial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006.They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and the group and hencetaking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financialinformation included on the charitable company’s website.Approved by our Board of Trustees on 04/11/2019Signed on its behalf.______________________________________________________ChairpersonAnne ShewringCharity Number: 1136697
