Dear all,
On behalf of the Hines India Innovations platform, we are thrilled to debut our monthly Innovations
newsletter H!-Tech. You guessed it, ‘H!’ stands for ‘Hines India’ and our objective is to stay on top of
various technologies – Proptech, ConTech, and Fintech so that we can be aware of how they are
helping companies to innovate, and save precious time and money.
As identified in the Innovations Survey which you all participated in, our focus areas emerged as –
Property Management, Digitization and Construction Tech. In our launch edition, given the focus on
RTW (return to work) in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we decided to share what all we are doing
at Hines India, and what is happening globally from an innovations perspective to support Property
Management as people start returning to their office spaces.
The next newsletter will be published on July 1 st , 2020, in which we plan to focus on Digitization of
workflows, and other interesting innovative technologies.
Updates on Innovations at Hines Global
Charlie Kuntz's job at Hines is all about making office buildings run better by identifying new
technologies like touchless elevators, occupancy sensors and air-quality systems. When COVID-19 hit,
that work suddenly took on an even deeper sense of urgency. In the newest episode of Looped In,
Charlie discusses the concepts of returning to work during a pandemic and how it's being done in
China where the company has several offices. And it's not how you might expect. Here is the video:

Leegality
the name of ‘Leegality’. We are using this for external as well as internal signatures, through a welldefined
Signatory Matrix.
Leegality allows us to execute digital signatures and e-stamping, which are legally binding and
compliant with the guidelines of the Govt. of India, the Information Technology Act and the Indian
Evidence Act, as they are done using Aadhaar verification.
What’s more, these e-signatures are completely secure as the platform uses GPS and facecapture.
The signed documents are stored in a secure cloud and come with an audit trail so that
enforcement is not a hassle.
Another area where this platform is helping us, is that it allows us to send bulk documents for signature
and allows signatories to affix their signature on multiple pages - at a click of a single button!
Using this platform, we are able to generate tremendous savings in terms of time and money,
improve security and serve our clients better.
Leegality’s existing clients include – L&T, HDFC Bank, Airtel, WeWork, Siemens, among other reputed
organisations. Also, Leegality can be integrated with other platforms at a later stage, if we so require
that flexibility.

Facial Recognition
We are exploring facial recognition technology that does 3 things – allow contactless access by using
AI to recognise the face, check temperature and check that the user is wearing a mask. This technology
integrates easily with boom barriers and turnstiles. Because of its deep learning algorithm, it can
recognize the face faster with higher accuracy rate of 99.9% in under 0.2 seconds. It also supports
multiple authentication modes: face/card authentication, etc. and it can be applied in multiple
scenarios, such as buildings, enterprises, financial industries, and other important areas. We are
initiating a pilot testing for the same.
