Micro-dosing

Psilocybin

Increase focus, creativity, and energy.

Studies at highly accredited institutions have shown that taking a sub-perceptual dose of

psilocybin mushrooms can have positive effect on cognition, creativity, memory, focus, mood,

relational skills, emotion, and energy levels. Professionals across varied industries who have

integrated micro-dosing into their routine report feeling more relaxed, sociable, empathetic,

creative, and both mentally and physically energetic. Micro-dosing offers the tangible neurological

benefits of psilocybin, like neurogenesis, below the threshold of intoxication.

What is Micro-dosing?

*

The term microdosing was coined in 2011 by Dr. James Fadiman. He defined it

as 1/10th of a hallucinogenic dose, between 125mg and 250mg for dried

psilocybin mushrooms, and recommended that it be taken once, in the morning,

every three days. Micro-dosing has 2 primary quantifiable benefits, firstly the

stimulation of neurogenesis (through the increased production of

neurotransmitters glutamate and BDNF) and secondly the connection of

networks in the brain that don't normally communicate. Although significant

changes in the brain occur when micro-dosing, you do not have to change your

daily routine whatsoever. Dr. Fadiman is quoted stating "someone taking a dose

this low functions, as far as the world is concerned, a little better than normal."

Dosage Schedule

The two most prominent dosage schedules are the Fadiman protocol and the Stamets protocol.

Both are derived from pharmacological knowledge on the metabolism of psilocybin. It takes the

body three days to fully metabolize and excrete psilocybin, this is why both protocols recommend

taking days off between doses. It is also recommended to note how your day went after

microdosing. Consider, for example, the amount of work you did, how productive or creative it was,

and the level of ease or discomfort you felt. Notice any changes in how you are relating to others.

Notice any differences from normal in mood, food, physical strength, or symptoms of any condition.
