elcome to the MWC Dispersal Sale. The majority of the
Woffering are either direct descendents or descendents of the
legendary Crescent Creek Rosebud 115F cow.All of the herdsires
are home raised; they are thick, deep good footed bulls that come
from out top producing cows. Some of the offering are Show
Champions but more importantly they are Champions in the
Pasture.
We are also dispersing our commercial herd. these are an
outstanding set of females whose calves top the market at Sekura
Auctions every year. They start calving March 15,2012. Many of the
females are from A.I. Sires; Masterplan 3 and HA Image Maker
0415. Also on offer is a fancy set of replacement heifer calves.
Thank you to all who have supported us in the past and at this sale.
OBI WELCOME
Welcome to the most interesting Dispersal Sale of the Year. MWC has always
stood for excellence in the cattle industry. Those of us who have known Brad
and Rob certainly understand not only their work ethic but their high standard
of achievement is second to none. Those of you who have not been familiar
with Rob & Brad's achievement standards – well come sale day and I am
certain that you will be impressed.
Rob & Brad had a vision; to develop a Unique Angus Seedstock Unit and that
they did. Cows were secured from FRL, KBJ and others as a base. Then
along came the MWC $41,000 purchase of Crescent Creek Rosebud 115F,
arguably one of the most proven and popular cows in the entire Canadian
Angus fraternity. The vision was carried out more extensively than one could
imagine. Rosebud 115F was purchased so that she could enter an ET
program – the sons produced would in fact be raised commercial. The sons
raised did exactly that – Image Makers, Right Times, Tom Boys along with
many grandsons were used extensively in the MWC cattle program. I am not
aware of any other effort of this kind in the beef industry; the results are simply
fabulous as the MWC commercial herd is highly recognized as raising
superior calf crops year after year.
The offering of the base female herd is complimented by a great set of
herdbulls that have been used and proven. The commercial herd numbers
approximately 400 bred females – highlighted by the groups of ½ and ¾
Sister Young cows and bred heifers. As well a set of special replacement
heifer calves will be offered.
Please do join us on Dec 3 at Sekura Livestock Auction in Drayton Valley. In
this time of low beef cow numbers, if you are looking to add or develop a
superior breeding herd, the opportunity is second to none with the MWC
offering. If you are unable to attend, OBI will be at the Sale Site Dec 2 and 3.
Remember about the great offering of Embryos and Pregnant Recipients as
well. See you at the Sale.
Crescent Creek Rosebud 115F is one of the most recognized
Foundation Cows in the Canada Angus Industry. This cow in
our opinion is one of the best females that we have ever seen.
She was one of the top Selling Females in the past 20 years in
the Black Angus Breed when we purchased 115F for $41,000
in 2005 for the sole purpose to flush her and to have her
daughters to lead our Purebred Operation and her sons to be
our foundation base in our commercial program. You will be
very impressed with her progeny in the purebred section of
the offering. They are younger models of 115F herself. She
also has 5 exceptional direct sons out of her that worked for us
in both herds.
We have used many sons exclusively in our commercial pens
out of 115F and the front portion of the offering are all 115F
descendants. Therefore the commercial herd has benefitted
with having a foundation cow like 115F in most of their
bloodlines. We had an idea and it worked to a tee.
Rosebud 115F was named Premier Dam at the Prestigious
2009 World Angus Forum. We had a lot of traffic to view the
uniformity of the show string that we had there that great week
and it was very impressive, all out of the Rosebud 115F cow.
The highlight that week as well at the 2009 WAF Sale was
when Duralta Farms Inc. from Vegreville, Ab. purchased
MWC Rosebud 117T for $15,500 as their pick from the
Progeny of Crescent Creek Rosebud 115F on display there.
Here is a list of how some of the progeny did there that day; MWC 141T/181W – Class Winner, MWC 181W -
Class & Division Winner, MWC 110U - Division Winner, MWC 117U - 3rd In Class, MWC 71T - 3rd In Class,
MWC - 46W 3rd In Class, MWC 121U - Division Winner, MWC 166W - Reserve Division Winner. So it was a
great week to showcase all the Crescent Creek Rosebud 115F progeny and we knew we are on the right road
after the compliments from all that stopped by.
Rosebud 115F also has a great track record with Sires at Minburn Angus (Main Event 6H), Get-A-Long Stock
Farms & Ringstead (Masterplan 31M), Lookout Stock Farm (Geronimo 42L), Johnson Livestock (Super X
188R), Greg Clegg (Ka-Ching 15R), Bronyx Angus (Pacesetter 20U) and Foundation Females at Sheidaghan
Angus (Rosebud 38K), Bronyx Angus (Rosebud 4R) and 4 Direct Daughters at Crescent Creek Angus. We
have on offer today 6 Direct Daughters and 6 Granddaughters of 115F. The opportunity with these foundation
females is endless because the 115F has been bred to many different sires and she continuously has the same
type of daughter or son, the marketable kind and always at the front of the pasture.
MWC ROSEBUD 141T - LOT 1
It is very fitting to lead off this catalog with a Daughter of the $41,000 Crescent Creek Rosebud 115F cow. 141T is
out of Leachman Right Time who continues to sire the top end females around. 141T will immediately go to your
front pasture and show off her worth. She was noticed by a lot of prominent cattleman down at the WAF 2009.
She has a perfect udder with great teat placement and is cow that really is a total package. You will not be
disappointed in her when you see her close and in person. 2009 World Angus Forum, 141T and her Calf 181W
was a Class Winner – Late 2 Year Old Cow/Calf Pair. The 181W was a Class & Division Winner for Junior Bull
Calf. He also won his Class & Division at 2009 Farmfair for Junior Bull Calf.
