BEACH CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN
Aspiga pledged to collect a basket of plastic from
the beaches in Kenya for every pair of Kenyan
sandals sold from May to the end of July 2019. We
are delighted that we sold 800 pairs in total and
have now completed two beach clean-ups,
collecting 800 baskets of plastic.
Aspiga paid local school children to pick up the
plastic, which they then took it to the Eco World
Plastics Recycling Centre in Watama. Their
collections were weighed and they were shown
around the Centre. We are thrilled to be helping
clean the beaches as well as educating the children
on the environmental impact that plastic has on
our planet.
Total amount of waste collected:
800 sandals = 800 baskets
