All <strong>JBA</strong> products start out with a blank sheet of paper. A great deal of<br />

pride <strong>is</strong> taken in <strong>the</strong> fact that each product <strong>is</strong> an <strong>original</strong> design. Th<strong>is</strong> approach<br />

allows <strong>JBA</strong> to optimize each design to accommodate <strong>the</strong> differences in each<br />

application for maximum performance gains and durability. <strong>The</strong> result <strong>is</strong> a<br />

fin<strong>is</strong>hed product that fits properly, installs without modification, and meets <strong>the</strong><br />

needs of <strong>the</strong> intended application. With <strong>the</strong> installation of <strong>the</strong>se products comes<br />

a notable increase in power and efficiency.<br />

<strong>The</strong> majority of <strong>JBA</strong>’s products are designed for use on late-model em<strong>is</strong>sions<br />

controlled vehicles. For th<strong>is</strong> reason, great care <strong>is</strong> taken to provide <strong>the</strong>se applications with <strong>the</strong> highest quality<br />

smog legal products available. To create power, and to install <strong>the</strong>se products legally, <strong>JBA</strong> implements<br />

designs that fit into a modern engine compartment without comprom<strong>is</strong>ing factory em<strong>is</strong>sions equipment.<br />

<strong>The</strong>se are referred to as <strong>JBA</strong> Cat4ward® Headers.<br />

<strong>JBA</strong> also offers a variety of “off-road racing only” products, like long tube headers, that are<br />

engineered specifically for race vehicles. <strong>The</strong>se no-comprom<strong>is</strong>e designs deliver maximum power gains all<br />

<strong>the</strong> way to redline. <strong>JBA</strong>’s long tube headers withstand <strong>the</strong> abuse at <strong>the</strong> track and in <strong>the</strong> shop for <strong>the</strong> post<br />

race tear downs. <strong>JBA</strong>’s designs allow for maximum ground clearance on lowered vehicles and <strong>the</strong> <strong>best</strong><br />

access possible for <strong>the</strong> easiest installation and service.<br />

Most <strong>JBA</strong> V8 headers include a patented device inside <strong>the</strong> collector<br />

called <strong>the</strong> <strong>JBA</strong> Firecone®. Th<strong>is</strong> feature simulates a race-style merged collector that<br />

reduces <strong>the</strong> turbulence where <strong>the</strong> primary tubes and collector meet. By reducing<br />

<strong>the</strong> turbulence, <strong>the</strong> exhaust gas velocity <strong>is</strong> maximized, which enhances <strong>the</strong> flow of<br />

gasses through <strong>the</strong> exhaust system. Increased flow equals greater power potential.<br />

<strong>The</strong> performance gains from <strong>the</strong> Firecone® can be attributed to improved<br />

scavenging. Scavenging occurs when exhaust pulses in <strong>the</strong> <strong>JBA</strong> header draws<br />

out spent gasses from <strong>the</strong> combustion chamber creating a vacuum. Th<strong>is</strong> vacuum<br />

accelerates <strong>the</strong> flow of <strong>the</strong> air/fuel mixture into <strong>the</strong> cylinder. In effect, increasing<br />

volumetric efficiency (more air in <strong>the</strong> cylinder).<br />

<strong>The</strong> patented <strong>JBA</strong> Firecone ®<br />

merged collector.<br />

<strong>JBA</strong> Headers uses <strong>the</strong> Specialty Equipment Market Association’s (SEMA) voluntary product identification<br />

program whereby all em<strong>is</strong>sion-sensitive products can be identified by placing color-coded and or numbered<br />

labels on product packaging and l<strong>is</strong>ting corresponding numeric codes next to each part number. <strong>The</strong><br />

corresponding numbers and explanations are as follows:<br />

<strong>The</strong> product accompanying th<strong>is</strong> document has been granted a California Air Resources<br />

Board (CARB) exemption, an “E.O.” number, or <strong>is</strong> a direct or consolidated replacement<br />

part. It <strong>is</strong> 50-state legal, per <strong>the</strong> manufacturer’s application guide.<br />

<strong>The</strong> manufacturer of <strong>the</strong> product accompanying th<strong>is</strong> document represents that it has not<br />

been found, nor <strong>is</strong> believed to be, unlawful for use under prov<strong>is</strong>ions of <strong>the</strong> Clean Air Act, per<br />

All <strong>JBA</strong> headers and exhaust products are guaranteed, to <strong>the</strong> <strong>original</strong><br />

purchaser, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year.<br />

Th<strong>is</strong> warranty covers <strong>the</strong> replacement or repair of <strong>the</strong> product only and does not<br />

cover <strong>the</strong> cost of removal and installation, customer applied aftermarket coatings or any<br />

d<strong>is</strong>coloration or corrosion of fin<strong>is</strong>hed surfaces.<br />

Damage or product failure resulting from coll<strong>is</strong>ion, improper installation, off-road use, road hazards, <strong>the</strong> use of<br />

exhaust insulating wrap or like products or rust occurring after installation, <strong>is</strong> not covered by <strong>the</strong> warranty. <strong>The</strong><br />

warranty extends only to <strong>the</strong> <strong>original</strong> purchaser.<br />

Should a part become defective it should be returned to <strong>the</strong> <strong>original</strong> selling retailer and must be<br />

accompanied with <strong>the</strong> sales receipt. If <strong>the</strong>re <strong>is</strong> no retailer in your area, call <strong>the</strong> factory for a return<br />

authorization and return your part prepaid to <strong>the</strong> factory for inspection. PerTronix reserves <strong>the</strong> rights to<br />

replace or repair <strong>the</strong> alleged defective part and return <strong>the</strong> part freight collect.
