HERITAGE SERVICE
Walker Brothers
As part of the History in Practice Project with Manchester
Metropolitan University, the Archives Service have been
working with three students from the Department of
History. The students have been listing, organising and
cataloguing the records of Walker Brothers Ltd, the
important Wigan engineering company.
The students will be holding a coffee morning at the
Archives on Thursday 7 April, 11.00-12.00. They would
like to invite along anyone with an interest in Walker
Brothers or the local mining and engineering industries,
to learn more about the company and the work the
students have been doing on the records. The event
is free to all, but please let the Archives know on
01942 404430 if you would like to come along.
