West Country reunion for Old Suttonians
A West Country reunion for Old Suttonians
was acclaimed “an enormous success”.
Thirty-five ex-pupils, plus 20 family and
friends, met for lunch at the Haynes
International Motor Museum at Sparkford,
Somerset in May, where they were given a
conducted tour by John Haynes, a pupil in
the early ‘50s and founder of the famous
Haynes Manuals.
The oldest member of the group was 82year-old
John Lonsdale, who left Sutton
Valence in 1945, and the youngest were
three girls who attended the school in the
late ‘80s.
Helen Knott, Development Manager said,
“It was an enormous success. Alumni are a
large part of our community whom we value
for their support of the School and for the
time and advice that many give to current
pupils. It is fitting that we create these
opportunities for them to meet, particularly
those out in the regions, so that we can say
thank you and keep them up to date with
news about the School.”
In June, the School welcomed Old
Suttonians who attended in the 1950s, which
was attended by OS from Hong Kong,
Cyprus, Australia and South Africa, as well as
the United Kingdom.
If Old Suttonians would like to arrange a
year group or regional reunion please get in
