LEADERSHIP
The Free Medical Clinic continued our honored tradition of providing care for the most
vulnerable among us. One thousand five hundred ninety individuals were treated at the Clinic,
receiving nearly 43,000 prescriptions. The services provided allow our patients to access care
without utilizing the local emergency departments, which are continuously overutilized. Thanks
to a successful fundraising campaign, the United Way of the Midlands, a wonderful Doctors
Lounge celebration, and the gracious support of our individual donors, the Clinic finished 2019 in
our best financial position since opening in 1984. Thank you to everyone who supported us in
2019! Due to the current pandemic we will face new challenges in 2020. Your continued
support will be more important than ever as we work tirelessly to care for our brothers who have
less. God bless!
For the first time in our 35 year history, we were able to institute a clinical rotation for
Physician Assistant students from the USC School of Medicine. We are incredibly fortunate
to recruit amazing new physicians and nurse practitioners. And we now have the ability for
our student volunteers to electronically schedule their shifts and maintain a log of their hours
thanks to the implementation of Volgistics software. Our generous friends at GE Healthcare
awarded us an in-kind grant of a brand new NextGen LOGIQR7 ultrasound with four stateof-the-art
probes. We rounded out the year by celebrating our signature fundraiser, Doctors
Lounge, at The Township Auditorium. Our talented physician performers treated patrons to
an awesome show, all while raising nearly $74,000 for Clinic operations and patient care!
