Security Officer Kamal Deep shows
off her newly snipped locks after
having 24 inches chopped off for
charity.
Kay, as she’s known to her family and
friends, decided to have her luscious
locks lopped off after volunteering at
the Trust. She spent time in the pop-up
shop at Sandwell and witnessed the
good work that was being carried out.
As a result, she decided to dedicate
proceeds raised from cutting her hair to
the charity.
Liza Gill, Volunteer Service Manager,
who’s also a part-time beautician, carried
out the task at Sandwell Hospital.
Afterwards, Kay said: “I love my new
hair. I must admit I was a little bit nervous
when she started to snip away, as I’ve
had long hair since I was a child. But I’m
so glad to have had it chopped off for
a really good cause and, I'm proud to
support Your Trust Charity. I spent time as
a volunteer in the pop-up shop at the start
of the pandemic, and I have seen first-hand
the good work that they do.
“There are so many people who have
donated, including the domestics, ward
staff, my colleagues in security and catering
staff to name but a few. I’ve seen how
tirelessly colleagues work here, from
frontline healthcare workers to domestics.
I think that this is the perfect cause,
especially whilst the NHS is really under
pressure, trying to deliver the best care
possible during this awful outbreak. Lastly, I
would like to thank Liza for giving me such
Kamal Deep before and after the big chop

a fabulous haircut.”

Kay for doing this. It’s a very brave step
to have that much hair cut off in one
go. Kay has been a fantastic volunteer
throughout the pandemic and this just
shows her dedication to the Trust and
