GENERAL INFORMATION
Sefa is the study association of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at
the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Sefa is one of the biggest study associations
in The Netherlands. We aim to inspire student to transcend, connecting them to
their future.
Sefa’s active members organize social, career, international and acedemic events
for economics and business students. Moreover, we offer students an extensive
network to explore and develop their capabilities.
As the board of Sefa, we recommend you to take full advantages of your student
life and we hope that Sefa can help you with it!

As Good As New
The As Good As New committee is a perfect introduction committee for both
Dutch and and International first-year students from the Faculty of Economics
and Business. With approximately 30 other AGAN’ers you will organize events
and drinks for your fellow students. This committee is a really fun way to start
your student life and gain experience in organizing events at the same time.
The committee is supervised by four second-year students who will make
sure that you will have the best year possible! Besides being part of the AGAN
committee you will join a committee of your choice, for example the Grand Ball
committee, Sefa Winter Sports committee or Career Month Junior. Furthermore
you will help the secretary in the Sefa Store.
Together with the whole As Good As New committee you will do many activities,
like having dinner, going out, going on a trip and participate together in all the
Sefa activities.
The AGAN committee is the perfect way to combine your social life with gaining
professional experience during your first year!

AGAN mentors
Hi, my name is Pim (20). I’m from Heemstede and I will be one
of next year’s As Good As New mentors. Being part of AGAN
and having so many new friends here has made my first year
of studying in Amsterdam unforgettable. When joining AGAN
you will take part in a committee and you will get to experience
a lot of activities, parties, drinks, trips and much more. A few of
my highlights last year were the AGAN trip to Budapest, Active
Members Weekend and the skiing trip. Joing Sefa and As Good
As New has given me a very memorable start to my student life
and I hope we can do the same for you.
Hello, I’m Michael (21), born and raised in Luxembourg with
English routes. I will be your international AGAN mentor! After
having a great AGAN year myself, I am looking forward to make
yours as good, or even better. Sefa has allowed be to make a
great bunch of new friends and there’s more to it than just the
social aspect. I was able to meet very interesting people and
engage in challenging, yet fun activities. You will most likely see
me at a lot of the events and I will be more than happy to share
a drink with you. So, make sure you apply and if you have any
further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. A beer
or two can never hurt!

Hi, I’m Tomas (19) and from Hoorn, which is a city north of
Amsterdam. Last year I was a member of As Good As New. I myself
was in sports committee but because of the coronavirus we didn’t
organize lots of events, therefore I am even more excited to make
this year successful. Being part of AGAN has really helped me
to meet new people and to make both dutch and international
friends. If you’re interested do not second guess and apply! I
am sure we will have lots of fun and have many drinks to make
unforgettable memories. For my the best AGAN activity was the
AGAN trip to Budapest of last year. Besides the trip, there also is
a grand ball, borrelmaand and we organize other events such as
sport events.
Hey Guys, I am Gijs (20) and studying Business Administration
at the UvA. I didn’t have any expectations about the AGAN, but
I was happily surprised after my first year. I have got to know
some amazing people who have become really close to me. I’d
like to make everyone as enthusiastic as I am now and promise
you that you don’t have to hesitate to join the AGAN. This will give
you an amazing first year with lots of activities and maybe even
your new best friends. Something really nice to have besides
reaching your goals in studying!
