We are often questioned as to why we do not
partner with a branded fabric supplier; the answer
is simple, we enjoy the freedom to innovate without
restriction or limitation. By continuously widening
our supply chain we are able to diversify our range
and remain individual in our choices. Comparative
testing is carried out against particular branded
fabrics, only to confirm that our chosen fabrics
always outperform them.
For 2021 we have introduced a new fabric
branding architecture; a simple way to
communicate and explain our fabric technologies
but also an opportunity to give us an ownable
identity that we can trademark. An identity that
will easily resonate with consumers, but more
importantly one that becomes synonymous with
Gill – when you see it, you instantly know it means
the jacket or item of clothing is guaranteed to be
both breathable and waterproof.
The naming hierarchy will clearly distinguish our
2-layer and 3-layer fabric technologies and will go
across both our sport and lifestyle ranges.
We’ve also developed a new quick-reference tool
that presents our levels of fabric performance
and explains the fabric technologies on all of our
waterproof garments, so that consumers can easily
identify which garment best meets their needs.
Garment ratings will be shown against each
product within this guide as well as on a unique
swing ticket applied to the garment.
