DIRECTION

Jerôme Coste is the Artistic Director of Hegid, he manages all the creations.

The creator, distinguished by his achievements in luxury and the mechanical

worlds, artistically supports Hegid’s ambition to make watchmaking evolve,

at the crossroads of the excellence and savoir-faire of watchmaking and the

creativity of fashion and arts.

In the past, Jerôme Coste founded the luxury helmet and accessories brand

Ruby, with which he dazzled through its creations and collaborations, such

as with Karl Lagerfeld, Maison Margiela, Louis Vuitton or Dior.

The fine and magical mechanical watchmaking is at the crosswords of

craftsmanship and technique. Naturally, Hegid chose to design and

manufacture its timepieces locally in its original country, France. Known for

its refinement, France is also a country where many watchmakers made the

history of this art.

From Paris to Morteau, the creativity and the rigor of artists, designers,

manufacturers, and even French leather craftsmen proudly enable the

manufacture of Hegid watches. All of the brand’s collaborators are at

the cutting edge of their respective arts, by operating in a respectful and

sustainable way in their environment.

The geographic proximity of production and regular monitoring of

everyone’s work allow Hegid to ensure the excellence of its timepieces.

MECHANICS

For Hegid, the French expertise goes along with the recognised quality of

Swiss mechanical movements.

Thanks to its experience acquired during the last centuries, Switzerland is the

expert country to manufacture watchmaking automatons.

Hegid watches must last for several generations, and that is why the brand’s

time capsules are equipped with Swiss automatic mechanisms, coming from

the Helvetian manufacture Sellita. The architecture of these movements is

known to all watchmakers as one of the most precise and reliable.

Imported from Switzerland, these movements are finally incorporated into

Hegid watches in the Doubs, on the other side of the border, in France.

The capsules are meticulously assembled, set and qualitatively reviewed by

Francs-Comtois watchmakers, graduates from the best national schools, in

this historic cradle of Watchmaking.

At the end of the 1960s, between the continuation of the Dolce Vita and

the expression of new aspirations, a boundless appetite for freedom was

leading to a promising future. This mirage took the form of a romantic ride

on an elegant and racy transalpine supercar, gently rolling along the sinuous

mountainside roads of the Italian and then French Riviera, from Portofino

to Saint-Tropez.

The bold lines of the Italian cars at the genesis of ‘Wedge Design’ inspired the

aerodynamic curves of the Mirage.

DRESSING

To accompany the evolution of a Hegid timepiece, the brand has developed

a bespoke case. It is not just made to protect the watch.

Like the piece itself, it is intended to go along with the life of its owner. The

wooden box comes with the watch chosen at the acquisition and already

includes hidden spaces thought to receive other watches, capsules, carrures

and bracelets. It is therefore not a passive box but an evolving watch box

capable of containing a large number of combinations of the same piece.

With Hegid, a customer owning a complete watch, who is offered a carrure,

then acquires a 3rd bracelet, has 6 styles of watches. Over time, it constitutes

a real watchmaking dressing.

The evolutive principle of Hegid consists in possessing a unique time capsule (case, movement,

dial, hands, crown and glass) which easily associates with other interchangeable style elements,

the carrure and the bracelet.

The Inaugural Series Capsules are equipped with Swiss Made automatic mechanical movements

SW200 tested beyond the standards of watchmaking (0s / +5s), with a power reserve of

approximately 40 hours for an uninterrupted wrist-worn. They are 100 meters depth waterproof

thanks to their screwed crowns, tubes and case backs. Unique, their serial numbers are engraved

to ensure the authenticity of each piece.

For an optimal dial and movement visibility, their glasses are made of anti-scratch, anti-reflective

sapphire crystal, letting their users contemplate the embossed shapes with luminescent hands

and indexes.

The quick and easy patented titanium Capslock fastener, allowing to transform the watch in just

a few seconds, constitutes the centerpiece of Hegid’s manufacturing secret.

Henrick Gauché (left) is a watchmaking enthusiast. After years of career

serving the leading Swiss brands, his experiences in workshops, stores and

factories convinced him to go for this wild dream: inventing the ideal watch.
